We bought an ipod in Walmart in florida 4 months ago and it suddenly stopped working - I took it back to our local Asda and 40 minutes later walked out with a cash refund - I had the receipt and they called a local travel agent to get the sterling conversion rate.:j0

We are going to buy an IPOD classic which will be £159. We will get it from John Lewis who offer a 3 yr warranty for £39. Is it worth it given the item not hugely expensive? Would be interested in peoples views as not had an IPOD before.
Also, what happens to all your music if your IPOD is replaced if it breaks down?0 -
Buying anything that goes faulty from Currys/Dixons/PC World and you will have a battle on your hands. Customer service and good will is very poor when you reach this stage of the contract with them.
Do what I do - if you need to view and test the items use their showrooms, and then buy from Argos. Usually close with pricing, but you have no problem at all returning faulty items for replacement or refund.0 -

Re: Currys refused exchange or refund
I bought a Apple ipod from Currys, and it recently stop working,
so i took it back, and they told me that they would have to send it back
to Apple to be tested, because they have had a lot of ipods returned,
because of freezing due to people not being able to use them properly.
Well all i can say is mine has not froze, i've been using it for 10 months.
So are Currys trying it on? and am i still entitled to a exchange or refund
even though they are telling consumers with faulty units that they would
have to send it back to Apple first.
Thanks.
I had exactly the same problem it went away for two weeks and came back from apple as not faulty  tried to turn it on in currys and it didn't work so they replaced it there and then eventually.0 -
i bought DS 1 for xmas last year from argos, it kept freezing so they sent it away to be repaired ( it was only 4 months old).
Its started doing the same again so its got to go back, they wont exchange it either.0 -
I took a shuffle into the apple shop and they exchanged it straight away. It came from argos and the guy in apple didn`t need the receipt.0
