  • HH your daughter is very principled, lovely to see that but very sad to see how her vendor or ex-vendor has treated her, very shabby.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Good morning everyone.

Sorry to read about all the disturbed sleeps, I can only sympathise. Apart from the occasional bad night I seem to manage good sleeps. Mind you my sleep monitor records me bring more restless than I would have thought.

The weather has calmed down considerably. Henry has gone. The trees are still and the rain has ceased for now. Thank goodness!

Yesterday one of the lovely builders turned up with the coir mat for the hall and fitted it. He'll bring some carpet strips later to edge it but one part needs ground down a bit...that means more dust. I'm focusing on the end result. I'll pop into the carpet shop later for a Lino off cut, it's such a small space now as the coir is 1m square.

The lovely builder the moved his van next to the front barn, climbed onto the van roof and then onto the barn roof to try to fix the satellite dish. Although he turned it round OK it still wouldn't work as I think the F connectors are wet. Now the local TV man is coming this morning.

I went to bed fairly early and watched a couple of recorded programmes.

I've got my hair cut at 9.30am, go to the bank and then the carpet shop and the TV. Maybe the afternoon will be quieter. Food will be the last of the beef strips and I'll pinch the mustard sauce idea. Actually the beef wasn't too good, very tough so I won't buy that again. I much prefer pork or lamb.

What a waffle! I'm off to get ready.

I hope everyone has a good day. TA - have a lovely time with your friends.

    Good morning everyone

Another one here who slept badly, I am sending round large cups of coffee and matchsticks to everyone :). I don't know why I can't sleep but it's very frustrating, I'm very reluctant to take any more medication so I suppose I will just have to put up with it.

Hubby has gone off to work and two of the girls have left for school. DD15 is staying home today as she didn't sleep either last night and looks completely washed out this morning. She says she feels sick and can't stop shaking so I will be keeping a very close eye on her today.

I am expecting an Argos delivery this morning of a wardrobe. Fortunately it's flat packed so I can easily store it upstairs for a couple of weeks until we sort out DD13's room.

I've taken out some mince for a spag bol for tea. I will sit down and chop up all the veg for it in a little while and hopefully get it on to cook this morning. We had battered chicken and chips yesterday but I really over cooked the chips so they were crunchy to say the least. Hubby manfully chowed through but I had to throw mine away as I don't think my teeth were up to it :D.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning again.

I did go back to sleep eventually. I went through a few YouTube videos to calm me down until my eyes started to get heavy. Next thing I knew, the dogs were barking to go out.

Hester what a considerate daughter you have. She really is a blessing.

Submitted my meter readings yesterday and was surprised to see we are over £600 in credit. I suppose it's helped only having the men here Friday to Monday and my new A rated washer shaves a good half an hour off my usual washload but still gives me excellent results.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all.

  • Morning (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Hooray I had an unbroken nights sleep, the first for heaven knows how long. Sorry to hear there are so many non sleepers here, I sympathise with you, have been there myself as you know.

Weird things happening here. As you all know my youngest son died in December. I had some lace angels I made a few years ago, they were fixed to the front window with double sided tape. Every night from the night after he died till the night after we went to see him, the same angel was on the window cill in the morning. After we went to see him none ever fell off again. From then until his funeral I woke every morning exactly at 3.15am.........because he died in bed they were unable to pinpoint the time he died, but said it was between 12 midnight and 4am. Now every morning there is a white feather in either the bedroom, sitting room or kitchen....... coincidence? .......I just do not know.

Going to the chapel coffee morning, nice to meet new people, am also hoping to hear that we can have the hall for the workshop next month. I need to do some more work on the blocks.

OH spent some time in the garden yesterday clearing up the debris from the storms. We are down to 2 bags of coal, need to burn more wood want it to last through to the end of March if I can.
  • How odd csarina but comforting too I hope

Good morning chums, damp and dark outside, so this morning I am going to do a little cooking and will stay indoors warm and dry.
I will sort out my tinned stocks as I have a few dented ones in there and I fancy making a veggie curry

My friend gave me a small pack of smoked loin joint that she didn't need as she is going away and I was wondering if I could slice it up and freeze it as my menu's are done for this week.I also have some cheese to freeze as well.

I will be using up a couple of bendy leeks to make some soup today as well. Its a use-it-up month this month and I am doing my best to stay out of the shops.Nothing on my shopping list needed and my cupboards are pretty full.

DGS Danny is still in Estonia with work and DGS Ben is off to Amsterdam with his friends from Uni on Friday He joined the Real Ale club at Uni so they will be investigating the flavours of beer in Holland :):):):)

DGS Mikey wanted a different snack yesterday after school so I made him buck rabbit (cheese on toast with a poached egg on top) he thought it was brilliant bless him, and I am greatly in favour with him now :):):)

Hope you all have a good day and sorry for all the ones who have had a disturbed night ,there is nothing worse is there, perhaps you can do as I do when that happens and have a nanny-nap after lunch :):):), or as my late OH would say 'I'm not asleep I'm reading the back of my eyelids' :):):)

    Keep warm and dry chums

Set my alarm for eight o clock as cleaner was coming and window cleaner.

Woke up at six a.m. so had a cuppa, tidied round a bit, loaded dishwasher and turned on the washing machine. Had a quick shower and washed my hair then got dressed and went downstairs.

Window cleaner has just come round and still waiting for cleaners and possibly a parcel delivery.

Crossing fingers and toes for older dd as she is giving a presentation this morning and quite nervous.

    Hester and Judi

I am sorry you had such a bad night and hope you have a better sleep tonight.

No idea what to cook later - maybe an omelette for lunch and have a SW ready meal in the freezer unless I pop to shop later and mooch around the YS section.

    Hugs to all

The day has turned glorious outside, bright sunshine, blue skies and hardly any wind. Mind you, it's very cold but so lovely. What a difference a day makes.

Been into town for my haircut. Most of the town and the next one along have no power. Only power in four shops on one side of the main street and that's it. Luckily for me I wanted to use three of the four! Hairdressers, TSB and the fishmongers. Everything else off including the carpet shop. I dropped off some paperbacks at the local surgery and ordered my repeat prescription. Just time for breakfast before TV man comes.

JackieO - all your grandsons sound so 'sorted' and well rounded, a great reflection on your parenting skills passed onto their parents. Great to read each day.
  • CSARINA I would find comfort from the mystery of the feather if it were me. Coincidence maybe but I'd like to think differently.

The blue sky keeps appearing in patches and then, blow me, it disappears again! And flippin' heck it does feel cold! Some beef stew defrosting for Mr TA's lunch and some Tomato, Lentil & Basil soup for me (with a bagel methinks) That'll warm us up a bit! A bit of ironing to do after lunch and then maybe an hour's peace before Mr TA goes to pick up the DGDs from school. Then it'll be non-stop to-ing and fro-ing to the various classes till 6.15!

Take care all and keep warm xx
