Vanquis App Etc:

in Credit cards
I have just got a vanquis card and was surprised at how rubbish the mobile phone app is, I've got a capital one card and the app has just been updated and looks really nice and tells you lots of information, anyone else think the vanquis app is a bit poor, also I made a payment to my vanquis card like 2 days ago but still nothing showing on the account, I make payments to capital one and it's showing on the account within hours, does this mean with vanquis I will have to make a payment days before the payment due date as it seems very slow?.

I must be the only one thinking this then.0

I've never seen an app so bad.0

I don't have a problem with it - it does what it needs to do I can see my current balance, my limit, available to spend, minimum payment details, transactions, and I can make a manual payment....not really sure what else it needs to do?0

...does this mean with vanquis I will have to make a payment days before the payment due date as it seems very slow?.This depends on how you make your payment:
- Debit Card - Allow 3-5 Working Days
- Bank / Post Office - Allow 5 working days
- Post - Allow 7 working days

I thought it was basic and rubbish at first but it didn't occur to me to tap on the balance and then I realised all the other information comes up.
It's actually not bad and does what I'd expect.
The payments are slow though I agree. I did a balance transfer to 3 of my cards and 2 of them were complete the next day, Vanquis took about 3 days.0 -
My payments show anything from 24 hours to 3 days after I make them.0

I guess the app does what it's suppose to but just looks very basic, maybe it's just my preference, as for the payments does it mean I will have to make the payment to my account days before it's due cause of how slow it is, with my capital one I can do it the day before as it appears within hours, or does the vanquis payment appear on my account their side within hours but just doesn't show on my statement until a few days?.0

For bank / debit card / post office payments you have to pay at least 5 working days in advance. As simple as that. At the end of the day, it's the due date, not a target to hit as close as possible.
If you want to make this easier for yourself, set up a DD and leave it to Vanquis to collect the payment on the day that they will inform you about in advance in each statement.0 -

They tell you the amount of time you need to leave, credit card companies tend to so you can't shout at them when you pay late. The best advice is to just pay when you get your statement, or always have a DD setup to take the minimum and then pay any extra, that way you are covered. Miss a payment and Vanquis will let everyone know, and you won't be eligible for limit increases for quite some time, they make this very very clear with their advertising and when you get a card.0 -
Is it not 100% clear from the post #5 above?
