ID Mobile/Carphone warehouse Fraud?

Hi all,

I would like to alert you to my recent experiences with ID mobile/Carphone warehouse. On the 2nd of january i spoke with ID mobile (subsidiary) of carphone warehouse as to why my call charges were far in excess(£32) of the £10 sim deal that i had signed up for the previous month and why they were asking me to bolt on extra minutes, which i had done (via text) as there was no way I had used up my allowance and that I believed my v/mail was being diverted fraudulently to a russian number that they had advised me of . ID said they would look into this

On the 14th January I had heard nowt so contacted ID . It seems that my voicemail was being mis-appropriated/diverted to a russian number and instead of the 3 mins i had used to access two v/m messages ID had registered the access calls taking 2 HOURS and 11 Minutes to the Russian number. Jamie at ID said i would be recompensed the call charges and the Bolt on , some £19 in total
Today I received a new bill of £19 which i was expecting to be lower with the credit...I called ID/CARPHONE warehouse and spoke with sardick who again agreed that ID had agreed to refund me for the International calls (that were freudulent) but they could not refund the BOLT-ON as i had chosen the Bolt-on...I remonstrated with him but to no avail I then checked this months bill to find an international call (Egypt landline according to ID mobiles Azola) which is actually my office number 2 miles from where i live In london....I am furious to say the least and have asked for my PUK code and was then advised that the credit was to the account so i shall need to stay with ID/carphone warehouse until the credit has run out (if i ever get it).
Over the past 3 months I have experienced the worst reception on my mobile. I have also received the shoddiest customer services which lacked honesty or integrity. Any other similar stories ?

020 is the area code for London.

+20 or 00 20 is the country code for Egypt.

What exactly is shown on the bill?

On most phones a long press on the 0 changes it to a + and, obviously, pressing 0 twice gets 00.

The country code for Russia is +7.

A family member saved several mobile numbers in her phonebook without the 44 for the UK (e.g +7785016005). The network charged her for each failed text as an international text to Russia.

    Sound familiar?

FWIW You can deactivate international calls via their app / website or using call barring codes via your handset.

  • Don't truth this company with your money or bank details.
They tell you it is easy to cancel just call in 7777 and following the options blah blah.
What they actually mean is call in and we will ignore the request and if you don't stop your direct debit we will keep taking money from you. When you question it and they will "investigate and listen to the call" and come back in 48 hours. this means say they will do that and never come back to you. so you start complain procedure and nothing is done on there you end up getting update after update form a different person each time, asking for the same details you have already provide.

over 6months and they still causing me headache !!

As Heng Leng said and if you have a contract it will automatically stop once you give the pac code to your new provider.

Just a thought but maybe everyone who is a customer of yours does not have Facebook or Twitter so offering another form of communicating with these issues would be helpful to say the least.
