Switching from TalkTalk to EE

Hi everyone, long time browser, first time post! :)

So, I recently decided to cancel my TalkTalk services, in the hope that maybe they would offer me, a loyal customer of at least 7 years a better deal... No, instead they said ok and cut me off! D'oh! To my surprise, within 7 days my service was cancelled! I'm sure there's usually a 30 day leaving period with these things?

Worse still, I didn't have a provider lined up to switch over to! So, I quickly had a search and chose to sign up with EE (more on that later)...

The next thing I get a bill from TalkTalk charging for another months service! Despite cancelling my service on the 14th Jan and TalkTalk disconnecting me on the 20th Jan, the bill is charged up until the 16th Feb! So I am seemingly having to pay a whole months service for just 3 days of benefits from it! I have spoken to a TalkTalk advisor and they did say this will be taken into account on my "final bill", which will be generated this month and the system will take into account any credits due to my account then, but I'm a little dubious that I'll see any charges credited!

Now to EE. I signed up for their broadband/phone service on the 21st Jan... Apart from an automated email, it took 6 days before I received my welcome email, informing me of the next stages... including an activation date of the 10th Feb. However, it has now been 12 days since I signed up and I have yet to receive any welcome pack or router in the mail!

Has anyone experienced similar with TalkTalk/EE? Should I back out now before it's too late. I do have 14 days cooling off to decide after all.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks

All the best

Carlos

You normally have to give 30 days notice, and yes, your billing is a month in advance, so any credit due is applied via your final bill.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Hi Carlos,

You can receive up to 3 invoices after cancellation to make sure all charges and credits are applied. There is a useful article in the help section of our website on billing after cancellation if you need any more info.

    Thanks
