That said to be on the safe side i submit very regular meter readings (fortnightly) to make sure i am on track. I print off and save an electronic copy of every bill (as i don't trust them to always be available)
I just submit once a month, which triggers a statement.
Have to say my treatment has been uncharacteristically good.
They just refunded the amount in the account, which I have confirmed is sitting in my bank account. Totally pointless, because they will be taking almost the same amount in three weeks time.0 -

Don't jump early or late SP might release a~n~other tariff just before your revert to 'standard' tariff fees - so pay attention in the last two weeks of your Tariff End Date.
It's worth keeping an eye on things more often than that.
You're allowed to change tariff at any time, and Scottish Power haven't had any exit fees for a while.
Last winter some of us changed to the latest one year fix tariff every month. Then things went up a bit, so it was about September or October before it was worth switching again. Then 3 months the same, and now we are either waiting or switching to this 2 year tariff on what might also end up being an interim basis.0 -
If I send a message online to Scottish Power generally they can't understand me and I can't understand them. Most recent example is the website said I couldn't switch to this tariff, it didn't really give me a reason.
I am on my third message to them now asking them to change this tariff. Their last response was waffling on about standard rates, gave some details of the tariff op was referring to and asked me to confirm if I wanted to go on it.
I'm not sure how I could be any clearer short of making a little sign and stapling this to my forehead...Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -
Like I said, it's Scottish Power....Je suis sabot...0

Currently on Jan 17 deal. But waiting as prices are dropping, no Feb 17 deal as of yet. Think we may have to wait.
Note. SP allows deal switches without exit penalty. Think BoP. Check every month, our current rate is £56 dual fuel 3100 elect 12500 gas. £120 floating credit.0 -

The rule of Four Tariffs.
If they do a one year fix, which usually comes in on-line and not on-line versions, they will be breaking the stupid rule.
We will actually have a choice between a one year and two year fix.
OfGEM  !0 -

Payment has been from £53 a month in December 14 to current of £56. SP only have a maximum of four tariffs at any time, from standard rate, two year fixed, charity Tarrif and a one year deal. Currently they do not have a one year fixed, for the first time in years.0 -

I always counted the online and not on-line as two separate tariffs, because they usually show up on the tables as two separate entries. Logically, it always seemed a bit odd. So it's counted as one.
So now we have two two year fixed, with the non Cancer one the trap, because it's hundreds more than the Cancer one.
Instinctively, people would choose the non-charity one, because we instinctively think charity is the expensive one. Reverse psychology, nice one.0 -
Fixed for TWO YEARS!
Yup, like I said the Economy 7 variant of the Cancer Jan 18 is a great backstop. And yes... Scottish Power, helpdesk people do not understand English, so they respond with gobbledegook, just so they can say they've responded in their communcations management software.
When I switched from Southern Electric to SP they asked me for a starting reading, which I gave. A few weeks later they'd changed it for no apparent reason. I gave them the starting reading again and told them to change it back and they said they didn't have the starting reading. Comms were conducted though their account mail facility until the final letter which I sent to their HQ in Scotland hoping that it would be dealt with by English speakers, but I was proved wrong - it was sent to India. The website account management and mailing software works well, the humans behind it don't.
The regulator's failed here - it should not allow Scottish Power to take on new business until their customer service peope have a basic level of competence and the director responsible has been sacked.0
