Self-proclaimed Worst Neighbour Preventing Sale

FGS go and apologise to the neighbour.
Clearly your conduct has been, I win, I'll do what I want.
the neighbour hasn't actually done anything particularly wrong.
No doubt you had noise during your build, now he's returning the favour.
As for the sign, so what? You disagree with it? He disagreed with your building work!
This isn't harassment, certainly no criminal matter. Apologise, offer to pay for a meal for the young couple and suggest that you'll try ensure the buyers are quiet and considerate people.
Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you get your way, a lesson you taught this young man with your development.0 -
Obviously you can see his point of view... did you show any regard to the dossier of complaints detailed by the neighbors ? Or did you just ignore them and go with a "well planning has sided with me boo-hoo"? attitude?
He probably felt at a loss facing months of noise and building work taking place next door. I can only say if you haven't been considerate to them (were you? did you address the concerns shown?) then he has no reason to be considerate to you....
Playing music and parking awkwardly is hardly a bad situation to be in anyway and in regards to the sign.... lets just say he could be doing much much more to put off potential buyers....
To everyone saying just tell him that you will rent it out to unfavorable sorts.... I think he will see through this rather quickly and it's hardly much of a win win for the OP is it... that's to say it's not a viable threat. I would respond to this threat with "yeah sure rent out your newly converted house which you've spent tens of thousands of pounds on to the biggest scumbags and lowlifes you can find I'm sure that will work out really well for you..."
I think a conversation with the neighbor is the only way forward in this one, threatening with renting to worse neighbors and trying to claim criminal behavior is just going to worsen the situation.....0 -
You need to go and get in touch with mad john, and crazy mike, probably found down your nearest dodgy pub. Give them some money and they will pay your neighbour a visit and advice him of his conduct.
You will have no problems after that.0
