E2SAVE O2 pay go to O2 pay monthly porting help!

i am currently on o2 pay as u go and want to keep my number and get a new o2 contract from e2save because all the best deals are on o2 network on their website. i have been told that i am not allowed to take my number from o2 pay and go to o2 pay monthly. i tried changing it to some other pay and go network like t mobile but they want me to top up the sim with 10 pounds so it becomes active, can someone please tell me if there is a way around this situation so that i can keep my number, thanks.

I realise this is a late reply, but I once had the problem that I was with '3' and the best deals were also with '3'. I went and bought a tesco mobile PAYG sim and ported my number to them. After a month or so I then took out a new deal with '3' porting my number from tesco.

Not sure whether this is still possible - it was 2 years ago I did this, but hopefully you can find some solution.
