Vauxhall Zafira Emission control light

Hiya there,
Quite a newbie in mechanics, so please be patient(if you can:))
I'm the owner of a 03 Zafira, 1.8 petrol, 67.000 miles.
Bought the car in august 2011 from Evans Halshaw-Supermarket, same light(EML)on, they've fixed it within 3 months(my warranty was 3 months) and around 6-7 times going to their garage.
Now, after an oil change 2 months ago and an overall inspection(at my request, due to going to have a 600 miles journey), my local garage "advised" me to change timing belt+water pump(reason: car is over 60.000 miles ect).Did as they said=> paid £200.
Two days after, a rapid ticking on right side of the engine(driver's side), I went to same garage and requested an inspection. Problem(they said it was a pulley) was fixed for free.
After exactly 510 miles(Plymouth to London + return) and 2 weeks later, heard some noise right side of the engine, and the car seemed to loose power(especially when trying to put the foot down). Went to them, checked it over again=> £120 - cam shaft sensor replaced, and topped up oil.
When I've asked how much oil they put on, the answer was "couple of litres". I said what the heck, I've checked the oil just before went to London, looked under no leakage, how come?
Their answer: some cars do consume oil, but mine hasn't in 1 year I've only topped it with max 300 ml, what means couple of litres anyway? He said was over 2 litres, but this is natural for Zafiras. Anyway car is fine, so don't worry.
Now this was 3 weeks ago.
Since yesterday thou, my dear Zafira had the EML on(the engine - not the one with the spanner), and also instant with the EML, have had for 1 minute or so the TC(traction control) light on, whilst my acceleration was reduced almost completely.
Today, the EML was still on, driven around 30 miles, rev-ed it twice in 3rd gear at 5000 revs so it shouldn't be the idle valve - as somebody mention it before(please correct me if I'm wrong).
Also done the pedal test tonight(repeatedly), and came out just one code: 0302.
I feel like the problems started since I've changed the cambelt(on their advice of course), the car hasn't had no problem since last year.
What should I do, or what can I do?
(PS: My apologize for such a detailed first post and for my bad english - not a native speaker, and thank you for whatever advice you will post)0 -

Update to my 03 Zafira 1.8 elegance
Just half an hour ago, I've driven my wife to Tesco and hospital(around 15 miles journey), EML light came on and also traction control light(the car on a slippery road).
1. I've stopped the car and turned the engine off.
2. Done pedal test, result: 2 faulty codes - 0302 and 0340(which is camshaft sensor that's just been replaced).
3. I've turn the engine on and lights on dash disappeared.
4. Re-done pedal rest(twice), same 2 faulty codes again.
Arrived home, lights on dash are off, but those 2 faults still come on.
Dunno if I should still drive the car(it's the only car we have) or not.
Should I go same garage again, what would the chances for a refund be?
Would this 2 faults really passed undetected when they actually checked it over(and charged me for it) 3 weeks ago?
I am a bit desperate, my financial situation isn't the best at the moment, so I'd be grateful for any advice anyone will give.
Thank you0 -
Just read the invoice, when the garage replaced cam shaft sensor. It says they topped up oil(without prior speaking to me). The oil used is 5w/30(as the invoice says) which is the wrong grade of oil. Prior, I've used only castrol 10w/40 semi-synthetic, and never had a problem.
Could this be a reason for all this problems? Also how can a cam shaft sensor become faulty after has been replaced 3 weeks ago?
Found it on "rac" site, that both wrong oil grade and faulty cam shaft sensor can cause those lights to come on.
I don't want to accuse the garage without a reason. On the other hand, I do not feel like I want to pay a higher bill for something that could be easy fixed, so that's why I'm asking for your help:sad:.0 -

Was the correct sensor changed? I heard there are two.....
What was the full code? It should have a description which tells you which sensor (something like Bank 1 Sensor 2).
It could just as easily be a wiring/connector fault.
If the light has been on a long time, it may have been over or under fuelling, both of which will destroy the cat if it was left for several months.
Over fuelling floods the cat, under fuelling overheats the cat.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
