Porting from O2 Direct (High Street) to O2 Online

Hi,
Apologies if this has already been answered, I have searched the forum and could not find anything.
Does anyone know if it is possible to port your number from O2 Direct (High Street) to O2 Online directly?
I know that some people have said that you cannot keep the same number without porting out first when taking out a new contract with O2 (if the original number is with O2). But does this apply for Direct and Online as I believe they are two seperate entities?
Just need to move to Online tariff which has more GPRS data and texts. I don't think I can just ask them to put me on Online tariff as they are seperate companies.

Just to answer my own question...rang O2 online and they said that it's not a problem as they are different companies! Hope this helps someone else.0
