BT and EE Merger/Takeover

Hi, So I have line rental from BT but broadband (only) from EE. I'm in a contract with BT (Line Rental Saver) but out of contract with EE. I've been with them or rather Orange & Freeserve for many years. I've been thinking of moving to BT broadband but I had so many problems getting the Orange broadband 'stable' and at a reasonable speed that I'm reticent to move as it is working well at the moment. So is this the right time to look at BT's offers or should I hold off until the smoke settles on the merger? Will the service actually be combined without me doing anything (hopefully at a better price?) Advice welcome. Mark

BT EE Orange all coming down the same pipeline .
All that will happen is that BT will offer mobile deals within the bundles .
They have given no timescale for transfer of EE broadband or even said it will close .0 -
I was in exactly the same position as you at the end of last year.
When the LRS ended I have moved my phone to EE.
You get free caller display.
Anytime calls for a sensible price.
They even threw in an offer of £10 off BB (per month) for a year to ensure they got my business.
Can I ask how much you are currently paying EE ?0 -
Hi AndyPK,
I'm currently paying 15 quid per month for unlimited BB. This hasn't changed for a long time. The guestimated speed other suppliers give me is only around 2.5M (long way to the exchange) however I'm getting around 5M so loath to change but there are better offers out there! If BT incorporate EE I'm hoping for a reduction (due to single supplier) or is that wishful thinking?0 -
Won't be cheaper unless you get a retention deal or swap supplier and get new customer offersEx forum ambassador

Don't wait for BT and EE to merge. It could be years before they do anything with the legacy products.
Do what I did and move phone to EE.
I was paying £12 (for BB limited).
I'm now paying £1.95 (plus line rental saver)
Unlimited BB & Anytime calls.
And not a penny to BT.
In any case, the going rate for BB only is less than £10 should you should do something.

Except you are paying all of your money to BT Group0 -
Good, as I have a few shares in the BT group!
Part of my point was it was the total and no money required elsewhere.0
