Virgin cancellation fee

I called Virgin media today to get a quote for a broadband contract and explained how I'll only be in the property for the next six months. The sales rep said that whilst they don't do six month contracts the cancellation fee would only be around £10.
That seems a bit suspicious to me as I've heard of people paying huge cancellation fees and when I pressed him for the exact figure he said he wasn't 100% sure.
So what do you make of it? Is he messing me around to get his sales commission. Also is it genuinely true that Virgin don't haggle? Thanks

Sounds a little low to me, wouldn't you have to pay for the remaining months of the contract.0

The way he explained it I would pay the first six months and then pay about £10 to cancel the contract early.0

I called again and after really grilling him he admitted that the figure he gave me was per month!
"Yes, the figures I gave of £6 to £10 for early cancellation are for each remaining month."
So why when I asked you how much it'd cost to cancel a broadband contract after six months you said repeatedly it'd be £6 to £10 and not £36 to £60?
"I can't give exact figures for legal reasons."
After that I told him to go to hell.0 -
Don't trust them!
