Judi - love the name X

Off to have a quick vacuum round and prep the veg.

Take care all xx

• Afternoon ((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Better night last night. OH woke about 5am and took cough medicine, went back to sleep, was out of bed before 8.30, minor miracle.

Laundry out on the line, blowing a hoolie but it was a drying wind, most of it is dry and airing.......no ironing thank goodness. Another laod in to do tonight.

MOnday clean done, bread in the breadmaker and a large vat of lentil soup made, should last us another couple of days at least.

Sliced the cold pork, we will have some tonight, the rest is wrapped in foil in the freezer against meals during the month.

Finances in a bit of a state this month, I have £26 to last to the end of the month and its only the first today. Thank goodness its a 'short' month. Think it will take me till April to get sorted out again.

Had a letter from the council at the weekend, OH had an 18p a month rise in one of his pensions, they are taking 16p extra off us. It really makes me so angry........I would tell them where to put their benefits, but we are entitled to them. We will have the same in May when our civil service pensions also go up, we always end up owing them cash because it takes so long for them to work it out. It took them 6 weeks to work our benefits out when we moved here, so we have been paying that back over the last 6 months, hopefully it will revert in April when the new rises come in. Enough.............

OH has gone for his siesta, the library van is due just after 2pm, we both have 4 books to go back. The van only calls once a month now instead of once every 4 weeks. Means we get 12 visits instead of 13.

Had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and yesterdays lamb hotpot for lunch.

I need to go out later to post a cheque for survey on bungalow and to post a parcel return for middle dd.

Windy and dull here but some blue sky which is nice. No idea what to have tonight but maybe a low fat burger and pickles.

Cat gas gone back with dd last night but big pieces of black fur all over the house. Nice to see two dds last night and hoping to go see another dd on Friday if I can get to the bus stop. (no bridge yet).

Judi

What a lovely name.

Hugs to all

• Wow JUDI that truly is an honour. That's a lovely name.

We've had a real mixed bag of weather so far today but currently we have some blue sky. I know it won't last but it's nice to see it for a change! The wind is still howling but there's worse to come tonight.

I braved the weather this morning, after all, and went down on the bus with Mr TA for his blood tests. We met up afterwards for the return bus back up. I got a few bits and bobs from the freezer/grocery bargain shop. Didn't need anything but it's hard to resist a bargain when you spot one!

Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx

Mum wants to visit HB for some supplements, her hairdresser has recommended something for her thinning hair.
She has my sympathy; my hair is about a quarter the thickness it used to be, if that.:( Yet another of the "joys" of having lupus. Is it an OTC supplement the hairdresser has suggested?

I don't understand why anyone deliberately leaves their tax return til the last moment year after year, I was getting a bit wound up with it – and it wasn't even mine! - but didn't realise how stressed I was til I hit the submit button and could finally relax :D
I don't get it, either - I did my tax return the moment I had all the information available, and paid what I owed in good time, too. I'd worry myself sick if I left it til the last minute; and of course the HMRC website is always mega-slow at the end of January because of all the last-minuters trying to use it.

Mushroom risotto for dins tonight for us. And I got some free:money: boxes of Bircher Muesli recently, so we shall have some of that for dessert. Ok, I know it's supposed to be a breakfast food, but I can very rarely face anything to eat first thing; and Mr LW has toast and Marmite for his brekkie.:D

LW - My daughter - immune suppressed - swore by hair ,skin and nails tabs from h&b . She trained as a hairdresser before becoming so ill and reckons they contain the right stuff at a decent price . She also has layers in her hair which give an illusion of fullness and seem to disguise the wide partings and badly thinned patches .
Take care

Afternoon
Quick post from me today. Work was really hectic and I seemed to spend half the day chasing people for things they should have done! Been busy since I got in too, DW on, WM on and vacuumed. Now going to make dinner from last nights leftovers. Will have to be somethings g that can be reheated in a pan as microwave packed up last week and DS is on late shift so won't be eating with me. I do wait for him if he's not going to be too late but he's on a close tonight and I'm hungry.

Wind really getting up here now, must have taken all day to work its way down south. It's not too bad where we are but those on the seafront will be bearing the brunt of it.

Keep safe and warm everyone.
Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

Storm Henry has been the nastiest one this winter.

We are being hammered by scarily high winds and sometimes horizontal rain. It's not stopped all day. It's taken out the freesat dish - I haven't been out to check it but my neighbour (who I let hook up to our dish) complained! We have analogue freeview too which is working downstairs though it's only got about five channels.

Upstairs is only freesat but I have loads of recorded programmes to watch when I go up. Once Henry has died down I'll go out to look, think it'll be Wednesday!

I dug out some stir fry beef from the freezer and had some with piles of veg and noodles. The mega spreadsheet is halfway done and now I'm waiting for info from a colleague.

Hunkering down for the night!

LW and Pollyanna - it is HB own hair, skin and nails supplement that Mum's hairdresser has recommended, if I remember rightly it was £11 for a 60 tab bottle but not sure if she is to take one or two tabs a day? She always had a thick head of hair up until a few months ago but is starting to thin now, she is 77 so has put down to her age. Xx
