Morning everyone, white rabbits and all that,
Windy here but nothing like what will hit our Northern neighbours, please take care everyone.
Had a lovely lazy day yesterday, Mum and I sat for an hour to do the bird watch, surprising how many we could record and even the woodpecker turned up as if he knew needed to be counted
Do need to pop over to see Bill this morning, will see if Mum fancies coming along as she loves to give him a cuddle, we always had horses when I was a kid and even though it was Dad that was the horseman she does love them to look at. This afternoon will go into town as DOH needs a hair cut and Mum wants to visit HB for some supplements, her hairdresser has recommended something for her thinning hair. We will then drop her off home as she has friendship club tonight, she has a busy social life and enjoys it all.
Tonight will be something quick and meat free, maybe Lemon Tuna Spaghetti.
Get well soon to all poorly folk x0 -
Good Morning one and all
Have been reading but have not had my head in the right place for a good few months but have decided to pull my socks up and get this sorted . The last 6 months have been a roller coaster to say the least with loosing my job and now being reduced to 1 income still there are people worse off than me so am joining back in as need to pull those purse strings oh so tight
Enough maudlin lets start the day have walked the dog would have stayed out longer but there were other dogs on the field off their lead and Seigfried doesnt like other dogs except his 3 friends at dog walking and even then he ignores them after a first quick sniff
I am taking my mum too marks but will just be browsing its a simply food so thats half the battle:D
WM is on with dog blankets will get them on the line before i go out.
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Morning :hello:

A local man has decided to start a dog walking group, quite a few people seem interested so he's been asking people what times and days suit them best then will pick the most popular times and come up with a plan. I'm not sure if he asked me because he's seen Scampi have the occasional, nasty tantrum and thinks it'll be good for him, or because he's only seen us on good days and thinks he'll be fine
I don't understand why anyone deliberately leaves their tax return til the last moment year after year, I was getting a bit wound up with it – and it wasn't even mine! - but didn't realise how stressed I was til I hit the submit button and could finally relax
Weather-wise we're having one good day then one bad one. It was nice yesterday, bit cloudy but OK. The sky is black this morning so I'm expecting it to rain at any moment.
Everything seems to be about everyone else lately so I'm going to use this week (and maybe next too!) to do things I enjoy. I'll do the needs around the house each morning – tidy, dust, vacuum – and will only get really stuck into a job if I feel like it. Afternoons will involve books, yarn and catching up on sleep.

Tru definatly join a dog walking group we are in one but we all go out for meals to the theatre and even little weekends away and we have a great time most evenings putting the world to rights and it will do Scampi good to socialise0

Good morning all,
Thank you nmic for starting us off.
The beginnings of a wild and windy day here, the storms seem worse now they have been given a name.
What a dreadful shock to hear yesterday of the death of Sir Terry, and also that wonderful actor Frank Finlay who died on Saturday. He always seemed to be such a gentle man with that wonderful voice. I can't get over how many lovely people we have lost in January of this year.
Well housework to do today, must throw the Dyson round, upstairs and down and flick a duster around. No plans to go out, but Himself will go for a paper.
DGD1 had a good weekend with work, but I think was somewhat surprised at how the bosses behaved when they had had a drink. I did warn her about that before she went.
We have left over chicken and gammon for our meal this evening with broccoli, broad beans, roast and mashed potato and yorkies. DGD1 never has a dessert but Himself will want icecream, and I am being very good and just have a yoghurt. Because I am on a new tablet for diabetes the GP has started me off on a half dose so I have to be extra careful with what I eat
Have a good day all and stay safe

Morning everyone.
And another storm charges through. We're back to high winds and lashing rain. The sky is so dark outside so my plan is to stay inside.
Yesterday I ended up doing a bigger shop than I thought I wanted to. Got plenty of veggies and some bargain wine. The village supermarket had my sixth favourite plonk on clearance at £3.50 a bottle. Couldn't resist it so bought six bottles. It's not a fine wine but definitely worth it for sharing with friends with food!
The washing load I did yesterday is still drying upstairs. I forgot to hang it up after it finished so didn't get it done until about 8pm. Got the dehumidifier running now.
I really enjoyed Vera last night, so many scenes in places I know. All the best bits of Newcastle and the countryside. And the story was good too, a bit of a shocking end though.
As for today, no idea yet apart from I have to set up a complicated spreadsheet to keep track of various parts of my IV work. Luckily it doesn't involve many formulas but will have various worksheets in it. I love doing this kind of thing - it's my version of making lists.
Tru - this is the kind of day which makes me glad I don't have a dog I have to walk.
Camelot - hugs to your DD. It's tough losing any job, hope she settles in OK in the new place.
Dumpling - big girl knickers time again, you've been doing so well recently, losing weight and going out, be proud of yourself and keep going. We're all proud of you and rooting for you from afar.
Now it's getting up time. I hope everyone has a good Monday.0 -
Unfortunately I feel like a wrung out dishcloth this morning and I have my CMHT lady coming to take me out somewhere, I think I will ask to go to the seaside as the fresh air will be nice although to be honest I would quite like to go back to bed . Oh well, I am fortunate that I can have a nanna nap this afternoon.
Youve done so well up to now Dumpling....:T
My daughter in SA messaged me last night. They have settled on a name for their new adopted son. Ryder Jude (and their surnames hyphenated). Apparently they couldnt call him Judith or Judi (being a boy) but settled on Jude (being the closest acceptable name they could think of). What an honour! I must have done something right.
Hubby has booked a week at the caravan on the Tuesday after the Easter weekend. Hope Lucy dog will be ok. It will be 6 weeks post op for her. I guess we will just have to stay off the beach. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good Morning everyone, grey and dull here today and not very warm but the house is clean and tidy, the washing is up in the utility room and food for the day is sorted out too. I find myself really wanting a little warmth at this point of the year I get fed up will damp cold and am looking forward to those soft spring days that will herald a return to milder weather. We've been busy this morning and booked a couple of weekends away later in the year to take in a couple of county shows which is something we've enjoyed in the past but couldn't do of late because of poor Docky. Looking forward to going to them immensely and we've put some local country shows on the calendar too so lots to look forward to in the fullness of time.
We enjoyed Vera last night too, quite dark and definitely sad but well written and well performed, Brenda Blethyn is so very talented.
Have yourselves a good day everyone, batten down those hatches ready for good old Henrys visit overnight and keep yourselves out of harms way, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all,
Judi - What an honour
Had to go to the hospital for the breast screen this morning. I couldn't decide whether to drive and try to get parked or not. In the end DH dropped me there and I have just walked back. It's not too far away and took me 45mins so I've probably done my 10K steps for today already
We have DH's last Diabetes session this evening. I think we will both miss going.0 -
