What a perfect name for a blog as well...Can't believe that so many people remember the story as well..lolThere is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

I know the version of an old Russian soldier coming back from the war and hungry etc etc...every version is lovely in its own right, though! :-)Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
oh yes I know that one, that was not really told to me so much though but I guess that might have been an age thing and my mother not wanting to talk about war and Russia/ Germany.
you are right though, each story is perfect for what it is and the fact that in the day of the xbox etc we can still remember the stories of our childhood proves that maybe that was a better way to put a kid to sleep rather then dump them in front of the goggle boxThere is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

One of my (and my children's) favourite stories. And what a great title for a blog - wish I'd thought of it first. Is there one called the magic porridge pot do you think? I bet there is.Jan 2011 GC £300/£150.79 (2 adults, 2 teens, working dog, includes food/cleaning/toiletries)0

I think it used to be in one of the Ladybird reading books. May be wrong.
