Plantar fasciitis anyone?

I have suffered on and off with PF for years and have learn't what works for me.
Fitflops are fab, i have a pair of boots for winter and toe posts for summer.
I also wear Asics trainers, they are amazingly supportive, i get them from a shopping outlet (Cheshire oaks). They are running trainers.
I never go barefoot (crocs slippers with fur in in the house)
Stretch my feet before I get up in the morning.
Throw out ridiculous shoes that hurt you, its just not worth it.
I'm a chef, stand up all day and wear safety shoes, a recipe for disaster. My work shoes have full supportive insoles in.:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
I forgot all about being told not to walk around with bare feet so reading on here reminded me of that.
I also could not wear flat shoes as that made the pain worse but trainers were fine.
When I had the plaster on for the 2 weeks they gave me crutches to use but they were hopeless or it was me that could not use them. Also my bedroom was upstairs so that was fun getting up and down the stairs.
Also got a plastic cover to wear in the shower which actually worked but I had to wait for days to get it as it had to be ordered.
I still get twinges from time to time on both feet so it reminds me to watch what I wear on my feet and I love the fit flops.0 -

My OH has recently been diagnosed with this and is going to see a private podiatrist to get a biomechanical assessment as the NHS waiting list here is so long and he is on his feet all day.
He has high arches and when he's walking the arch collapses causing inflammation on the plantar fascia. The GP said he's likely to need insoles and possibly physio or surgery to correct the arch (which is apparently above normal in the high arches stakes).
Is there anything he can do to relieve the pain between now and his appointment next week? He's always worn OTC insoles for high arch feet though there's still a good 10mm gap between his arch and the insole and he's tried the cold water bottle rolling exercise which helps a bit.0 -
I had physio for PF - they used ultrasound. I didn't like the cold bottle rolling much but it did help to reduce the swelling a bit.
The physio really helped, and I did keep up the 'standing on a book edge doing slow raising and lowering' exercise for a while, but now I get heat moulded insoles from a running shop and wear them in every enclosed shoe I use - or I wear really good walking sandals.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

My DH has PF and was given some exercises from our GP, they stretch his foot and calf muscles, he swears by them and I can tell if he hasn't done them.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I saw a consultant about mine a couple of months ago. He offered me surgery to release the fascia if I wanted it. I didn't at that stage so he said that there was truly only one exercise that would help, and it would make me hate him with a passion!
Standing upright, one foot in front of the other. Both feet flat on the ground. Back leg as far back as you can get it while keeping both feet flat, while pushing forward towards the wall/table/chair.
One minute each side ten times. Twice a day for six weeks
I haven't been as religious about doing it as I should have been but I definitely noticed a difference.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
