Cancel Sky broadband

Currently have Sky fibre at £7 per month until beginning of April. Am considering swtching to Vodafone fibre at first six months free then £15 a month. I thought I had read on this web site that ofcon had told sky they had to accept people cancelling contracts until Jan 31 but have just phoned sky and been told this is not true and this ended 31 dec. Any one know if this is correct or are sky giving me incorrect info.

Can't see the logic in this. Over next 12 months it is going cost you £7.50 a month, which is more than your current deal. Plus moving to Vodafone would probably the last place I'd want to move too.

As above suggest you wait until your contract ends and cancel .

As the other guys have said, it would make no sense to switch at the current time and move to Vodafone. While I am sure the penalty free cancellation was extended to 31st January, you would, as TadleyBaggie has said, end up paying more in the long run.

The best suggestion would be to wait until April on your current deal and then at that time see if you are either given a loyalty offer with Sky or shop around for a new deal and have a look at cashback offers etc.
Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 17 payments until DEBT FREE - February 2027

They're lying to you: New chance to haggle a better Sky deal after Ofcom steps in over price hikes
If you're affected by the price rises, which came into effect on 1 December, you now have until 31 January 2016 to cancel your home phone and broadband penalty-free and move elsewhere.
Time to get back on the phone to Sky for an improved offer or to arrange cancellation.
