Can anybody help???
I got an upgrade from orange, they told me i had to wait 1 month to activate my new sim.
In the meantime, i sold my new handset, but kept the sim to use in my old phone.
Then orange told me i can only activate my new sim in my new phone (which i dont have anymore)
i asked them if i can just use my old sim, but although it still works (for now) they say i cant do this, and that there is nothing they can do to help, but that i still have to pay
any suggestions?
thanks

Your new SIM should work in your old phone - sometimes they tell you that you shouldn't as the new SIM may be registered with the new phone for security reasons.
If you contact Orange via the web contact form, you should be able to have this clarified and if necessary have the changes made to your account to indicate that you are still using your old phone. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
Be very careful!!!
Did orange upgrade you when you called 150, or did someone call you? The common scam of 3rd party upgraders is to say not to register anything for 30days, by which time you find out either of the following has happened:
a)they've upgraded you incorrectly (ie wrong talkplan, wrong contract length)
b) they've signed you up to a second subscription, and by waiting one month, you will not be able to return or terminate the contract in any way.
When Orange upgrade you, you get your handset delivered via parcel-line, your new sim comes with the handset, and you are recommended, in fact generally required to register your upgrade when you receive it. (this is just for upgraded service for use with the new handset, (eg, if you upgrade from a 2-g handset to a 3-g handset, you are then given a new 3-G sim)
I suggest:
phone up 150 and see if you have been upgraded recently on your line. The details will show + ask to have this confirmed - talkplan details, contract terms.
>> ensure you havn't been added a secondary subscription to your line (ie, 2 active subscriptions on same account)
The one-month waiting period is not recommended.

pS) your sim-swap is irrelevant as to whether your sim is in your new fone or not. If they ask, just say 'yeh, it is'. they have no way of checking, or atleast the customer service advisors who deal with the registration dont, and they won't check.Information provided is offered as a guide, and should not be deemed to be 100% accurate/correct. yes, i arranged the upgrade by calling 150 from my mobile, everything is legit with the upgrade. Except i cannot activate the new sim, i have called orange who have tried to activate it while in my old phone (i didnt tell them this at first as i didnt realise it was an issue) but it simply wont work. they say that it is programed to be activated in my new phone otherwise it can't be activated.
I didn't trust the guy at orange at all, he told me i couldnt use my old sim, but it seems to work for now, their customer service seems very poor at best.
But i'm not happy to sneak around using my old sim (which may get cut off at any time) I'm paying for the service, I cannot see why it is such a big deal for orange just to agree for me to use my old sim??? what difference does it make to them?0 -
Hi,
As I mentioned in my original post, if you E-mail Orange customer services using the online contact form, you should be able to have this clarified and the problem resolved fairly quickly. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
