    Hi Folks
Not sure if anyone can help me with this on here. I was given a quote by Wren living for my kitchen which was further discounted by the store manger towards the end of their sale. He advised me that the Installation charges included all of the items I had selected which included units, 5 x appliances and granite and wood worksurfaces. His personal letter with his offer stated 'without changing anything from the selection you made, the new price is....' I spoke with him and he assured me the only additional cost I had was £60 for a cirucuit test payable to the fitters. I paid 10% deposit based on this as I was happy with the quote. I went into the store and added two other units to the plan to finalise the order and I removed their granite which comes with considerable fitting costs, the sink and the tap, as I had found it cheaper/better elsewhere. I was told yesterday having paid my 10% deposit 3 days before that they had not updated the Installation costs on the computer as they had built the plan with me and that it was now an additional £1600 on what I had been quoted and had paid the deposit on! Can they legally do this. I thought by being given a quote and paying a deposit on this that it was binding.
    Any advice would be welcome.
    Many thanks:mad:

You are not the first Wren customer to tell a story like that and you will not be the last. Cancel the order, go to a competitor and start again.

Also read the "Wren Kitchens my review" thread on the Consumer Rights board on here to get a good idea of what will likely happen if you carry on with them.

They are not all bad and the product is O.K. for what you pay, but their delivery, quality control and backup can be shambolic. I do not know of another company that has so many of their former staff that come on to this site to slate them.
That alone should tell you something.

We are in the position of looking for a kitchen and have toyed with the idea of leaving the existing in situ and replacing the worktop or having a new kitchen. We had a quote from B&Q £12k, Homebase £14K, Wren £12k and our kitchen is by no means huge.

I went to DIY Kitchens and chose everything we wanted and a few extras and they come pre built so very little work meaning we will fit ourselves and pay a fitter to do the worktop (granite) and tile the room and in total it came to £4,200
    House renovation savings £25,000/£25,000
    Emergency fund £1000

Don't buy Homebase Hygena kitchens. The carcases are not very strong and tend to twist and bow. Not worth the money in spite of (supposedly) 60% off.
