BT Infinity 1 - Drop connection when playing online games!

Hi all,

I have BT unlimited Infinity 1 and have had it since Oct last year

Up until recently i had only used my internet for streaming videos wirelessly from Netflix (also on my xbox), Now TV etc, But ive recently started to play online games through xbox and have found the connection is very bad, When seraching for a game it takes a very long time to get me into a game and when it does my connection always shows as weak, It also keeps disconnecting on games i play on iphone/ipad

The hub is connected to the main phone line socket and is in the same room as my xbox and other devices. They are all wireless

Does anyone have any advce on why this keeps happening?I have tried speaking to BT but they havent been able to resolve the issue

I have ran a few broadband speed checkers and that resulted in download speeds of between 38.19 - 42.2mb and upload speeds of between 7.94 - 9.05mb and a ping of between 712 - 726

Any help will be very much appreciated as its begging to drive me crazy :rotfl:

Thanks!

I'd try an ethernet cable first instead of wifi.

I was thinking this, as at least two of the newspaper websites have constant slow downs or lost connections.

Your connection speed is spot on for Infinity 1, but your ping is terrible (if you are talking 700+ milliseconds)
On line games require good latency or the gap between pressing a button and getting a reaction makes them unplayable
    Try resetting your hub etc
