Hi I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section... well my storage heaters in my new flat won't come on. I'm on the economy 7 tariff that is 12.30am till 7am. As far as u know my heaters should start then. But they were stone cold last night and in morning. Any help would be amazing .as I'm looking to expect a freezing night again

Have they worked recently?
Are they switched on?
Has the RCB in the consumer unit(fuse box) tripped out i.e. lever flicked up?0 -
It's my 2nd night here. And again tonight they are not on. There's 2 switches on the wall next to it and there both switched on.0

Are you using them correctly? Do you have a manual
You should have two dials. One saying input the other saying output.
In the evening ensure they are on at the socket and set the input to a high number 4, 5 or 6. Also ensure the output is at 0. Then leave it.
It will seem like it is doing nothing. It is actually charging during the night.
The next day, when you want some heat, turn the output dial up. You should feel the heat being released. Then when you do not want anymore heat, turn the output dial down again.
Ensure the output dial is on 0 when you do not want heat and/or when it is charging.
Good luck!0 -
Are they teleswitched or on an older clockwork meter? The latter is frequently hours out.
PS if your cheap rate starts at 12.30am, it ends at 7.30am...that's 7 hours. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

So identify the circuit that supplies the NSH's and check if the MCB is in the correct 'on' position and has not tripped. If the NSH's were a later addition to the flat, then they may be wired through a subsidiary board near the main CU. With luck, the circuits are marked up.
Is there a neon indicator light on the switches next to the actual heaters? If this doesn't come on, then clearly the circuit is not functioning, as it's unlikely that all the NSH's have failed. How many are there?
If this is a rental property, ask your LL or agent. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
