BT Sport free then cheaper if ordering broadband

We live in a rural village and BT cannot supply broadband to us. It really winds us up that we keep getting adverts through the post saying join BT and get BT Sport free for three months and then £5. We are massive motorcycle sport fans and have to pay £19 a month!
I phoned BT and asked if I could pay the £4.50 for the broadband, even though it wouldn't work, as that would still be a lot cheaper! But they said no. I did think of ordering it anyway online, but would then be paying £6.95 for the home hub which wouldn't be needed, and presumably I wouldn't be able to get a refund on.
Currently our broadband is £29.99 a month (just a basic 8.4 up, 1.6 down, not good enough for TV streaming, but the best we can have on our 7 year old equipment, they say), Sky is £26.75 (need Eurosport) and BT around £70 for phone and BT Sport.
Any ideas on being more efficient?

Thats postage not the cost of the hub .
You say BT cannot supply broadband .
So who supply's your current broadband .0 -
Do you want to keep your current broadband provider and line rental provider but ask BT to set up an broadband account, never actually connect you to their broadband equipment but allow access to BT sport, via presumably a Sky TV box for the price of broadband only ?, if this is the case I doubt you will get it, apart from taking money from you under false pretences, they offer 'free' access to BT Sport when taking BT broadband on preferential terms, with the proviso that you also take their phone and broadband so overall they make a margin on line rental and broadband to offset the reduction on the 'sport' , if you don't want to switch to BT broadband they have the stand alone option that you currently have, or is it you are prepared to switch to BT for line and broadband but they are saying you cannot have BT broadband ?
If that's the case how is it that another company can offer broadband access and BT cannot ?, I doubt there is a single BT exchange that offers access to non BT broadband suppliers but not BT themselves, are BT saying that there is currently no capacity for new customers or they don't offer service at all ?0 -
8.4mb download speed is more than adequate for streaming TV (even HD only needs a 4mb bandwidth).
My son lives in a rural village with a maximum of 8m/b sec download speed and has Plusnet. He has even managed to get Plusnet (a BT company) to include BT Sports in his package and it works fualtlessly.Never Knowingly Understood.
