Vodafone Shocking Service - Be warned!
Hello All,
I thought I would share my experience for your reading pleasure:
I had a contract with Vodafone for 2 years. With that contract I was "given" an Apple iPhone 4S.
During my contract I took a data bolt-on for a particular month when I was traveling, which ended up being recurring (for a few months). When I eventually spotted this, I attempted in vain to get a refund on the recurring charge, as no bolt-on add-on data was actually used for the 2 or 3 months which took for me to realise the recurring charge was taking place.
So, naturally, when my contract came to an end, I ported my number out and took my business elsewhere!:j
This was about 7 or 8 months ago. A few months ago (3 or 4), I got a new phone, so naturally, I decided to sell my old iPhone 4s. This is where the problem started. You see, Vodafone never released the hold on my phone, since I "did not request" for it to be unlocked. As you may understand, after paying up my contract, I want to have the phone unlocked from vodafone before i make any sale - for two reasons: to sell the phone for a bigger amount + to save another poor soul from being a vodafone customer.
As I ported my number out, vodafone's system can't find my profile on a first instance, ever! Which means every single time i have contacted anyone (in person or over the phone), I have to inform them that they need to find me on their "legacy" system + provide them with my address, method of payment, dob, phone number and what size of trousers I wear.
Most of the times I am informed that the only way of requesting an unlocking is by utilising their online form, at least twice, before they understand that I have used it, on my own and whilst at a vodafone store with their representative looking over my shoulder to ensure details are correctly inserted.
Their customer services number is a joke - the only way to actually speak with anyone is by calling to their sales number and asking to be passed on to customer care (after about 3 or 4 different departments answering and passing you on).
I have been promised on multiple attempts that "I will look after this and solve it for you, I will call you/e-mail you back about this within the day!" - And, after literally months of trying - My iPhone 4s is still locked to Vodafone :rotfl: ! Most of their staff just says "I don't know who to pass you to" or "I will cc the unlocking team manager to make them do it" and yet nothing actually happens!
Just my honest opinion: STAY AWAY FROM VODAFONE :money:
