I used to make pineapple upside down cake a lot in school cookery classes

or it's a favourite of mine in a fruit salad along with other fruits that are 'harder' and/or don't brown. I use pineapple, orange (satsumas etc) segments, kiwi fruit and grapes.
I'd also use cabbage for coleslaw. I mix it with grated carrot and onion and a dollop of mayo.
One of the nicest veggie meals a friend once made me, was spinach and mushroom pasties using flaky pastry. I think she might have used a small amount of sauce to bind the filling.0 -
Cauliflower cheese. Simple. And add the spinach. Rubs Tum.0

I recently made Pear and Parsnip soup but it tasted too sweet for my liking but that might appeal to you.
Just as an aside, someone suggested pineapple to help get rid of mouth ulcers - it seems to work, at least it seems to be helping me! Luckily for me, I love pineapple.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Most dogs adore fish.;)

we don't like cauliflower.. and I don't like cheese.. would you like a cauli sending your way? lolmary_hinge wrote: »What about salmon fish cakes? you can mix the salmon with mash spuds, spinch, onion/spring onion the dunk in egg and roll in bread crumbs? I toast the crusts of loafs then blitz them!
Or wrap in foil parcels with cherry tomatoes/herbs or pesto...... or a fish pie?
as for cauliflower.... blitz it for rice? or mix with spinach, spuds, tinned toms and peas and what ever spice you can all tolerate to make like a bombay potatoes/veg curry thingie? or soup with carrots/swede/broccili and stock cube?
failing that sling it my way I love cauli cheese :rotfl:but it does smell really bad on the way out

Pleased to oblige LAMEWOLF- this is the Pear and Lemon Jam recipe I use http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/pear-and-lemon-jam-recipe-93/
The Pear and Parsnip soup I cut from a mag and threw away when I didn't like it, sorry! But any Apple & Parsnip soup recipe should work ok by just substituting pears for apples."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Of course it is, you can use any fish or combination of fish/shellfish in a fish pie.

have you ever tried cauliflower roasted in the oven? OR slice into half inche slices, drizzled with garlic oil and cooked on a griddle pan? changes the taste and even cauli haters have been converted.
That is what I was going to suggest , roasted cauliflower is deliciousVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

I know you're not a curry fan, and it's probably not one that a cauli-virgin would even contemplate making at home, but I dare you to try this if you ever eat at an Indian restaurant: gobi paratha . Indescribably blimmin' delicious..
Recipe here for anyone brave enough to give it a go.
Definitely going to try the pear and lemon jam recipe when we have our next crop, thanks TA!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
