Try it curried and you might change your minds. Spinach doesn't go far once it's cooked, 400g reduces to a relatively small volume.RAS most of us love sprouts, the children will happily eat broccoli, it is just cauliflower.. it just isn't edible! it smells the same as it tastes and then smells the same the other end. Even OH wont eat it and he eats anything!
I've done a potato and bacon bake and used 1/4 of the 400g of spinach!! (we'll eat again book
.. first time I have used it so we shall see!)
I will slice and freeze 1 of the cabbages.. the other is going in the pan tonight with carrots..
I really like spinach but even I couldn't eat that much..
Otherwise, baby spinach leaves make a lovely salad base.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Salmon.....am hardly one to give advice here, being a vegetarian, but this one might tempt you a bit, and use up some of your spinach as well.

Only other thing that I can suggest is to disguise it in some kind of a creamy sauce.0 -
Feed it to next door's cat. (Advice from another vegetarian).Anne_Marie wrote: »Only other thing that I can suggest is to disguise it in some kind of a creamy sauce.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Am sure your cat would really appreciate the salmon, but it's not very money saving. (I have no idea of the price of cat food though, so I could be wrong, I have been before, and sure I will be again!)
You could maybe do fishcakes with potato, and serve with a sauce. Posh fish fingers for the kids?
My parents often do a salmon in cream sauce tagliatelle, which they assure me is lovely.
Poor Dad, who loves his fish, always cooks it outside on the bbq when they come to visit, so that he doesn't stink out my house. Who am I kidding? He's in his element outside in the sun, with a glass of wine in hand, out of the way of two blethering women. :rotfl:0 -
have you ever tried cauliflower roasted in the oven? OR slice into half inche slices, drizzled with garlic oil and cooked on a griddle pan? changes the taste and even cauli haters have been converted.0

If your family are jam eaters I make a lovely Pear & Lemon jam. Much nicer than it sounds and ends up a pretty pale pink when it's ready.
I recently made Pear and Parsnip soup but it tasted too sweet for my liking but that might appeal to you.
If you can get hold of some cheap stilton (or any other blue cheese) we like Cauli & Stilton soup.
Spinach here would only get eaten sliced and chopped VERY finely and added to stews!
The pineapple wouldn't last five minutes with us. Cut into cubes it will keep in the fridge (covered) for a good few days. Just eat as it is."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Spinach can be mixed in with mince for bolognese ( Italians do it) When I've had a glut of pears I've peeled, sliced and blanched them and frozen them. They are then used the same as apple in crumbles with a bit of cinnamon. I do have a re ipe for pear chutney if you're desperate

We had cauliflower mash (actually done in the blender) for the first time this week and I love it better than normal mash. Had it with sausages and red onion relish. Yummy.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

What about salmon fish cakes? you can mix the salmon with mash spuds, spinch, onion/spring onion the dunk in egg and roll in bread crumbs? I toast the crusts of loafs then blitz them!
Or wrap in foil parcels with cherry tomatoes/herbs or pesto...... or a fish pie?
as for cauliflower.... blitz it for rice? or mix with spinach, spuds, tinned toms and peas and what ever spice you can all tolerate to make like a bombay potatoes/veg curry thingie? or soup with carrots/swede/broccili and stock cube?
failing that sling it my way I love cauli cheese :rotfl:but it does smell really bad on the way out
