But there is gum disease. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Read the study carefully. Then look as to who has the highest rates of gum disease.
As to ancient man, he almost always suffered from gum disease http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1600-051X.1995.tb00262.x/full0 -

I havent read it but I guarantee it's in the last 10,000 years after farming. Grain based diet.0 -
Caused by nutritional deficiencies of a diet low in animal products and fruit. Vit A, K, C, B12 and more. Symptoms of scurvy? Loose teeth because connective tissue requires Vit C. Low intakes will make someone susceptible to gum disease.0
-
Grains have zero vitamin C. Most fruits have little, unless they was consuming green leafy vegetables or citrus fruits multiple times weekly intake would be very low. RDA in US is 80mg, 10mg needed to prevent scurvy. Can see intakes of less than 40mg contributing to gum disease.0

Before you reply please have the courtesy of reading the studies on links provided. Eg gum disease worse in elderly Inuit women who live on a traditional high meat diet , Neolithic man having gum disease almost universally before the change from Hunter gatherer lifestyle.0
-
I didn't need to because I know. 6,000-3,000BC....I was correct.
Also Neolithic man were all farmers,0 -
Some studies are done poorly. Inuit women may have never brushed their teeth but had started eating some western foods. Small amount of western foods and not brushing teeth probably a lot worse than western diet with toothbrushing0
-
Please read the paper, it is not one study!!!!!!!0

I could bring up a thousand studies showing hunter gathers with zero gum disease. One of studies you quoted was looking at inuits in the 70's on a western diet and you use that as an example of inuit having dental problems....of course they had dental problems at that point they were on a western diet. You lost credibility at that point and it deteriorated ever since.0
