Morning all
Wow the wind is incredible , I've had to go into the back garden to pick up all the recycling that has blown all over. I'm going out later to meet a girlfriend , She lives at the highest point in Sheffield and it will be massively windy there , hope it settles down soon
Need to tidy up today and do some washing. It's mild enough to dry outside but obviously too windy
Keep safe everyone xx0 -
Morning (((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
We are supposed to be going to Aldi this morning. Wind seems to be gusting a bit, hope there are no trees down, we have to go across country to get to the main road. I will be glad when the Aldi at Bingham is open, just 14 miles there and back unlike Grantham 34 mile round trip.
Mats for the quilting group went down very well, was asked for the pattern. I will have to write it out, no idea where I got it from first made it in 2007, it must have been in a book.
Slept ok last night, I am always very tired after the group, time almost got away from us, it was 4pm before I knew it.
Fish for supper tonight, may do mash and peas, the fillets are big so I cannot do them in the Remoska as I normally would.0 -
Good Morning everyone, damp and windy here today but not nearly so much as in the north, I'm off in a few minutes for a blood test (they're doing the whole lot of us over 60s as far as I can see) and will walk the 2 miles to the surgery. Have had to fast since last night and had a cup of hot water for breakfast and am going to buy the biggest mug of tea I can find after this is done and a slice of toast!!!
My little Zebra is 2 today, how did that happen? blink and 2 years just gone in a flash. His mum has made him a cake with a train on top which will make him very happy and they are having open house today for all his little pals to visit rather than a party which might have overwhealmed him. I hope we'll be able to skype later on and talk to him.
Hope you all stay safe in this stormy weather, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning everyone.
Storm Gertrude has been the worst one so far this winter. It's just terrible outside. The place has been battered all night and it's still going. I woke up to a power cut so stayed in bed. It came back on about 15 mins ago, the electric blanket came on so I've just stayed in bed!
I'm not going anywhere. There's plenty of food in and I've a huge pile of books to start on. The storm is going to rage all weekend so whether the router stays connected or not is debatable.
When I went downstairs the red squirrel was in the garden eating the hazelnuts I left out. He just ate and left, no hiding nuts today he scoffed the lot.
Two birthday two year olds! How lovely, I hope they both have a lovely time.
Everyone, keep safe. Happy Friday.0 -
Older dd and her husband came over to drop off their cat for the weekend and I cooked us a breakfast before they had to set off on a five hour drive.
They will be collecting fluffy (not her name) on Sunday evening.
Dishes are in the dishwasher and I have had to close the big garage door twice this morning as the wind blew it open.
I will have to brave the wind to go out and get my prescription filled
and then have a quiet day. Middle dd gets back from business trip to Holland late tomorrow night and will be staying over with me.
Happy second birthday to Zebra :bdaycake::bdaycake:

Good morning,
My goodness Gertrude has made her presence felt, a very windy night (my Nan's name was Gertrude)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZEBRA:):bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:
I can't believe he is 2 years old, and that of course means we are all 2 years OLDER:eek:
I meant to say when I went to the GP the other day to discuss blood test results he said we are conducting a dementia test on all over 60s. Well he tells me I passed with flying colours, so when I told DD she said I knew you didn't have dementia, you are just MAD, now that I like, but a little respect wouldn't come a miss
:)
DGD has had a promotion at work and we are all chuffed to bits. She has only worked there 6 months, but has worked really hard and has gained a lot of experience.
Have a good day all and stay safe

Must review my posts, I see that autogetitwrong gas altered my post to something meaningless but now I don't remember what I meant to put.
Still blowy here wind is really noisy and it is drying my laundry. The inevitable downside is the ironing but I don't iron much.
Elona I am jealous, a cat for the weekend! All the cats round here see it as their mission in life to try to get the top off my bin, unsuccessful too, they don't come for a stroke at all, so not what I call good value cats. I can't have a cat as DH is allergic or says so, really more about him not liking them.
Have knitted two vultures and a crocodile and done some housework.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
AOD
She won't let me stroke her but she is running away much more slowly.
Nipping out to get her dreamies and get into her good books."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all,
i am told we had a gale in the night. I didnt know, i slept through it. Same as the earthquake we had a few years back. I think if the wardrobe door hadnt swung open I'd have probably slept through that as well.:o
Had a difficult day yesterday with a naughty 2 year old and who would have tried the patience of a saint. :rotfl:
Happy birthday to the Zebra child.... Heck have i been posting on the daily thread that long? I remember when he was born.
