Do all wild deer belong to HRH then? I thought that was just swans and you had to have her permission before eating one. Go on, tell us you've eaten swan :D

Yes, there's some ancient law that says if you find a dead deer you have to ask permission from HRH to keep/eat it :)

There's also an old law regarding pheasant too ... if you run it over and kill it you're not allowed to pick it up, but the car behind you can :D

Not as bad as my chooks when I was a little girl, I'd spent the time from easter to christmas eve raising 6 cockerel chicks. Come Christmas Day all the family and neighbours were eating chicken and my poor chooks were no more :(

Apparently I'd eaten Speckle for christmas dinner :(

Awwwww moggins, we were in a similar predicament when we kept chooks when I was a wee lassie, but luckily the guy behind us also kept chucks so we just swapped :D

No wayyyyyyyyy could I have eaten poor old Henrietta :rotfl:

Me too!!!!! and I'm darn bloody sarf too so should be warmer!!!! I must be going soft in me old age as we grew up in the wild norrrrf with no CH whatsoever!!!!!

Tip I got from an old hunter was ... when skinning bunnies start at the tail end and pull the skin over their heads so you can't see their eyes when chopping off their heads :D

Years ago - "when times were 'ard" LOL - I spent a couple of days on a turkey farm, it was just before Christmas ;)

The farmers son, Jack was absolutely distraught when Mr Spockle was lead to the barn ... to my rope - *gulp* - :o I know Jack probably never forgave me, but at the time, either the turkey got it, or my kids starved!

Well, finished my BBQ and very nice it was too - I cooked it so it was edible :D (Mr TM was all for having words about him not doing the cooking, but in true MSE style, I refuse to let him ruin perfectly good food anymore)

Weather - warm and sunny. Hey, I'm only in Lancashire, so not that far from you CQ, surely.

Anyway, I'd also bought some coleslaw (Mr TM eats it) and I partook of some. Yuk - I much prefer my own HM stuff.

(Last bit for benefit of Squeaky, so as to pull posts back on topic. Can I have a gold star now please sir?)

Right, off to sit in summerhouse whilst still light and read another chapter of thrillingly good book - 'The Money Diet' by some Martin Lewis bloke. Anyone heard of him? Then I may partake of an oatmeal bath, as per other thread. :D

I got relegated back to the southern division a couple of years back unfortunately :( ... but I have a friend who lives the wrong side of the hill ;) ... whom I'm hoping to visit this summer, once I master this business of stepping foot outside the front door ;)

Another confession - to a frivolous waste of money today.

I bought a copy of Good Housekeeping. Usually I only get them on the 3 for £1 lark, but June's edition has the pic of Andrew Castle (from GMTV) wearing - well, nothing really. :D A girl's gotta have something to look at, hasn't she? And the rest of the mag's good too. Oh, there are 5 other men in there, sort of baring all (it's all for charity) if you're not an Andrew Castle fan.

Hmmmm - maybe Martin can wait

I saw him too - but just for you, this is Andrew Castle:

He also hosts Perseverence on ITV at 1.30 weekdays (but I've not watched it yet)
