PAYG that doesn't expire within 3 to 6 months ?

I'm negotiating to work from home 2 or 3 days a month. My boss says I must be contactable by customers, and is miffed that I won't let customers have my personal mobile no. - actually he gave it out to 2 last week, & I went ballistic

I have an older Moto G phone in a drawer at home, was going to sell it, but it's worth virtually nowt, so plan to sling a PAYG sim in it, claim the top-ups on expenses, and allow that no to be given to customers. I'll make very few outgoing calls, so it doesn't make sense to pay PAYG that expires every 30 days or whatever.

I know about 3s 123 PAYG deal, just wondered if there are any others?
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

The vast majority of standard PAYG sims don't expire as long as you make a chargeable call or text with it every now and then (usually after 180 days, but it varies).

Almost them all but wouldn't a cheap sim only deal be easier to reclaim.

Life mobile were doing one for £6 (with 1500 mins) and will provide an monthly invoice to reclaim.

What about The Phone Coop? They do a rolling 30 day contract at £2 a month which included no minutes or texts. That will eliminate the risk of being cut off if you don't top up or make a chargable call. I have this package for both my Grandparents as the concept of "chargable calls" was too much for their crinkly brains to comprehend. If its just so you are contactable and you won't be making masses of calls it should be perfect for you. Your nightmare boss can't moan about £2 a month can he?

You are better to get a sim only or, at least, a payg sim that details calls online. That means all calls are itemised.

have they said that you must be "contactable" or are they expecting you to contact customers?

    contactable only = payg sim
outgoing calls = simple monthly contract (life mobile 500 mins = £5 per mth)

    which is it?

    This thread is total b*ll*cks.

Just get any payg sim, coop, delight, post office, tesco, or whatever

    Don't buy a bundle

    Put £5 credit on it

    Pass number on to customers

Make one call every 6 months, or send a text for 4p

    Your 5

Credit will last at least 50 years, should be long enough!

    Cheers fj

I asked the question above , because if the OP has to spend 100 mins a week ringing people then the proverbial £5 will not go far ,

however if customers are ringing the op only , then PAYG is the way
