I was told 28 days at the medical. I do hope it's sooner as the stress is really getting to me.

If you have only recently been awarded PIP, what happens regarding Universal Credit? Apparently our area is one of the first rolling this out, so does it mean having to reapply and attend yet another assessment?

AFAIK PIP isn't included in UC. You shouldn't need another assessment until the date on the award letter - although I think people are being called any time within a year of their 'end' date. My award goes up to July 2017 but I was told I can be reassessed any time from July 2016 onwards.

Evening. I apologise as I'm sure this will have been asked loads of times but I can't see anything. My son is currently on middle rate dla, he is 17 and recently was invited to apply for pip, I posted this recorded delivery and it had to be there by 17th November. Since then I have heard nothing. Now, don't get me wrong sometimes no news is good news and I don't want to stir a hornets nest or anything but should I be worried yet? I have seen stories of people applying in January talking of their assessments and not sure if to ring them to find out whats going on?

My son had to apply on turning 16 in November (DLA to PIP), returned the forms early December & got his award today, I've heard nothing inbetween & was beginning to think they'd lost or forgotten about it. Hope you hear something soon.

I was really surprised as when we've applied DLA in the past I've always had a letter in the interim before the award, usually telling me they'd contacted a medical professional for more information. This time nothing, no text message, no face-to-face, just application then award. I did put in lots of evidence with the claim but I always have IYSWIM & this is the first time they've made a decision without requesting further evidence.

He got an ongoing award for Enhanced Care/Mobility, this is equivalent to the DLA he was getting previously (Higher Care/Mobility).

I still haven't heard anything - I did ring to ensure they had received it when I started the thread (they had), and said it was being assessed .... that's over a month ago now - do you think I should ring again. On the one hand we are still getting dla and I am concerned that the amount may change, but on the other hand , if it is going to change I would rather know about it.

You can ring anytime. When i was waiting for mine i rang every day after 1 week. Your DLA payments will stay the same until a decision has been made on the PIP. Either way once it has they'll write to you with a date when they're stopping. If successful with PIP your payments for that will start 4 weeks after your last DLA payment.
