I'm planning to change my conversional boiler to Combi boiler and my choice is the Worcester 36CDi Compact. I live in a 3 bedroom house semi detach.
First, is this boiler adequate for my need? Hoe good is it? I choose it for the compact size.
Secondly, "boiler r us" a worcester approved installer quoted £3,850 for the job while a sole trader I saw on checkatrade with very high ratings quoted me £2,500. Is there a catch here?

Firstly, we can't begin to guess at the installation cost for the boiler as we haven't got enough information.
The Worcester boilers, IMO, are a good boiler but, that new compact is a blooming nightmare to work on when its broken (speaking as an RGI) but saying that I know others hate them. SCRGI hates them if I remember correctly.
I used to fit them regularly but lost too many jobs to others quoting for a cheaper boiler which is probably just as good if I'm honest.
They have good aftersales service generally.0 -
Most combi boiler's output is more than sufficient the heat the house. The relatively high output is needed to 'instantly' heat water for showers/baths/taps etc. That is why a combi is generally considered unsuitable if a property has two bathrooms.0

Which combi boiler (Manufacturer & Model) will you recommend? I need a combi boiler to handle 2 bathrooms as I'm planning on extending my house in few years time0 -
We cannot possibly tell you if a 36kW combi is adequate or suitable for the property, because we don't know what your water flow or pressure is like, or what your gas supply pipe size or pressure is. Only your RGI can determine this, following a site survey.
A combi of that rating may be sufficient, but those 2 factors determine whether it can be installed without additional gas supply work, and what flow rate you'll achieve.
You don't choose a boiler based on it's size without first checking the above factors. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
