Virgin breach of contract

I was a reasonably happy puppy with my 50mb broadband as it was all I really needed... until I got a call from Virgin Media. A pleasant Indian sounding gentleman offered me a speed upgrade and a vivo box M+ tv package and phone line for an extra tenner. I weighed it up and after the gentleman reading his script multiple times and assuring and reassuring me that "this is the price you will pay for the duration of the contract no more no less" I thought sounds alright to me so agreed and went through the motions. The gentleman stated directly from his script again numerous times "this is the price you will pay for the duration of the contract no more no less". I even asked him multiple times "are your sure the price wont change during the contract" and he again reassured me that it would not. Fast forward 2 months and the price has been hiked by £10 approximately. When I contacted Virgin complaints via webchat I was repeatedly told I was lying as they "didn't offer fixed price contracts" and refused to budge from this. Despite my assertions that the gentleman did indeed offer me a fixed price contract and multiple requests for the recording of the call I was eventually disconnected. I contacted Virgin Media on Facebook and was again told they "did not offer fixed price contracts" and was eventually told to ring them to escalate the matter. What is my best course of action in this situation? Ring them and get passed about like a stubborn STI, put my complaint in writing or cancel my direct debit and tell them to swing on it? Thank you for reading my rambles.

Cancel your DD and you are the one in dire trouble .
Personally i would write a letter and post it .
But be aware that VM are stating the truth re price increases in contract . The guy who sold you the product i just wonder if he actually worked for VM .0
