Tesco direct debits

Hi,
I'm trying to set up 2 direct debits from a Barclays account, to a Tesco account.

I've tried a few times over the last few day and keep getting a message saying it, error, try again.

Is anyone one else having this problem?

    I have 4 Tesco DDs on my 2 Barclays accounts. No problems in the past when I was setting them up.

    Set up in Tesco's to pull from Barclays

    Yes, that is what I'm trying to do, move money from Barclays to Tesco via direct debit.

    You are using the savings account aren't you?

    Can you take a screenshot of the error message?

    Yeah, the same thing happens on both Internet regular saver and instant access regular saver.

    I'll get some screen shots.

    Login>select account>pull money in(left hand side)>add new account>fill in details>confirm.


    If you get an error message, the offending box is highlighted in red.
    normally because you are trying to force the system to pull a DD before the required set up time.

    Their DD setup does seem flaky, I've had issues with it in the past where there were no error messages on screen but they just weren't set up at the other end, I seem to remember they (Tesco) actually sent letters to say they hadn't worked!

    I've just set three up (apparently successfully) within the last hour, but am not 100% confident that they'll appear on the target accounts at TSB - I used to have DDs for these accounts back when they were Lloyds TSB Vantages at 4% but they must have been removed under the dormancy rules. I tried pulling money last week but this failed (at time of transaction not when teeing it up) so am recreating them....

    I've just been back on, it worked fine this time and set up no problem.

    Only thing I done differently was, set them up for mid month, not earlier in the month. Think I might of been trying to set them up to soon.

    Do you think it's best to make sure they work as they should before I upgrade my Barclays account?

    I would...unless there's a waiver period such as that offered by Club Lloyds on their fee?

    I am guessing the system wanted 10 days?
    A little trick that might help you. When the DD's show up on the sending end normally three working days. Go back in to Tesco's and change the pull date to the day after next. I managed to get a payment in five days last time.
