I send PMs but they do not appear in my sent items folder?

When you open 'Send a new private message' there is a tick box at the bottom of the page:-


Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder


..is it ticked?

It's ticked by default for me.
I think this depends on settings:
User CP
> Edit Options
>> Messaging & Notification
>>> Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default
