  • I've only been a member for a few months & have about 1000 points. I was hoping that they would sort themselves out & I would be able to get a voucher or two in time. Now I think I'll cancel my membership & give up with it. Seems like a waste of time! Thankfully I didn't pay extra for premium membership
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.
  • Their Twitter account is gone too.

I reckon the old model could have worked if they'd sold some advertising! Now it's no better than Running Heroes... still worth doing but I wish I hadn't paid for Premium+ membership.

I requested my 3 year subscription refund on Sept 15th. I received an email a few days later asking for my bank details to pay the refund and I supplied them. I received an email back on Sept 21st stating that the refund would take 7-10 days.

Then I got an email saying my ticket was resolved and closed but I still hadn't received my refund. I contacted them several times by email and they did not respond.

Yesterday I finally did get a response saying I have to provide PayPal details for a refund.

I have provided those and I got another email saying my ticket was resolved and closed, yet again I still have no refund!

This company have constantly changed the goalposts and I understand some customers have been refused refunds and now they've emailed some members to say paid membership no longer exists.

How can they keep the money people have paid up front in respect of the next two years membership when there is no paid membership in those years?

Surely there are legality issues in the way they've conducted themselves?

I'm now considering trying chargeback or a CCJ to recover the subscription as its disposable of them to think they can get away with keeping money for a service that's no longer available.

I will await the outcome of Martin's investigation before I decide my next move. I can only advise anyone considering using this company to avoid it at all costs.

Ok thanks. Martin doesn't actually have anything to do with MSE anymore but I'm glad they're going to be looking into it.

It has been clear for some time that the company was struggling so it was clear that something was going to have to change - i guess if the option was to go away entirely they have made the better decision for them. They grew too big too soon and were not able to bring in enough revenue to keep the model working.

I was a Premium+ member but did manage to redeem enough, in the early days, to have covered my cost but now have 10,000 points that are fundamentally worthless and challenges for a chance to win a £5 amazon voucher just don't appeal to me.

The thing that really irks me is the "we are not a Nectar style scheme" messaging - I am sorry but when you advertise "£200 of rewards for Premium members" then that is exactly what you are claiming to be.

The actions of the owners have shown themselves to be not the best business people - shutting off social media when people have invested in you is pretty bad. .

The reason they grew "too big, too quick" is purely down to greed by asking MSE to promote them.

Same as a previous poster. I asked for a refund on September 19th, and was told it would be provided within 7 to 10 days. Followed it up after two weeks after having heard nothing, was told it was with the refund team and my query was closed.

I contacted them again last week, and was asked to provide my details again. I told them that I had already provided my details, and was told that it would take 30 days for the refund to arrive. I reminded them that it had already taken nearly 40, and they told me that it would take another 30 days from today. I replied saying that it was ridiculous to send me back to square one after such a long delay, and they haven't replied.

I'm pretty disgusted with them to be honest. I'm sympathetic to the financial problems that a start up may face, but they have been rude and abrupt by email, and keep breaking promises and moving the goalposts. It's infuriating. The bad treatment annoys me more than the lost £15.
