Argos stole my money !!!

In the middle of December I have bought some furniture from Argos. When it has arrived and I have unpacked it I have found out it was damaged. I have tehrefore contacted Argos and said tha I want to return it.
They have agreed and the colection took place on 29 December.
At the time when I have said that I wan't to return it they said that as I have purchased the furniture with the Love2shop giftcards(In fact it was a giftcard through the work's benefit website which I have bought through work with a discount however in Argos this would show as a Love2shop giftcard) they can only give me a refund in Argos vouchers to which I have agreed.
I have waited for a week and as nothing was coming rang Argos. They said they need to speak to their accounts department and will call me back soon.
After waiting for 5 days and not hearing back from them I have telephoned them again. I was again told some one will ring me back but after waiting for a week no one did.
I have then sent them an email last week on Monday with a formal complaint. This complaint was ignored. Also last week I went to the Argos store where I was told they can do nothing about this.
Any ideas anyone as it appears Argos are happy with the current situation having both money and thefurniture.

I was going to suggest the same but it looks like he already has
OP, post on FB again but actually state what your problem is, not just telling people not to shop there.
And tell people they have stolen your money when they most certainly haventDont rock the boat

Well my personal experience with Argos CS is very negative.
Ordered something online, never received it, no communication whatsoever from them, but I had paid with Paypal luckily, so I opened a case and got my money back that way.
I had messaged Argos before opening a case, gave them a few days to reply and no answer. They never replied even after I opened a case against them.
Keep pestering them on social networks; normally it works for me when I have a complaint against a company and I need a speedy solution to my issue.0 -

A few days may not of been long enough for them to investigate and reply but after you opened a case against them then they had no need to spend time on your enquiry..
I've contacted Argos by email a couple of times and received a message saying they will reply within 7 days, which they did. Never had any issues with getting replacements or refunds from them.
It's like anything else, there's good and bad in everything.0 -

Gave them plenty of time to reply to 2 messages! They took my money, didn't bother giving me an order number either.
I don't feel like it's acceptable to expect me to chase them up with 100 messages and phone calls or wait days on end to know anything when they promptly took my money and I was the one aggrieved at the end of the day, not them. I gave them a fair chance to solve my issue, they couldn't be bothered, I then went to Paypal.
They have never even apologised for the inconvenience. I haven't heard anything at all. Had to wait days before I got a refund and I was without the item I originally intended to purchase, which in hindsight I should have purchased somewhere else. Now I am not gonna shop with them based on the poor service I received in this occasion to remain consistent.
The fact a dispute was opened with paypal is not a good excuse to avoid the customer. A company with good CS would always apologise for their mistakes. I'm not unreasonable and I wouldn't go demanding compensation for a mistake anyone could make, but a complete silence is awful CS IMO. An apology/explanation and either the delivery of the item or a refund was what I expected.
I am lucky I paid with paypal, otherwise I would have had to wait for when they felt like dealing with me.
I know it's a boring rant :rotfl: but in my case I haven't been unreasonable and Argos don't deserve being defended.0 -

That happened to me as well.
When I telephoned they said there was a problem with Paypal orders and the order had not gone through.
I also had to wait until the funds allocated on my Paypal account were not requested by Argos.
Not good enough IMO.0 -

It was probably that the problem, but the payment had been taken, so it wasn't just a matter of the funds being allocated temporarily in my case.
I had to win the dispute to get that money back and the dispute takes days to resolve with the intervention of Paypal, if the seller doesn't refund or anyway offers a solution. That's why I said that thinking it was normal for them to ignore me once I went to paypal is not good. They just delayed my refund and aggrieved me further, which is not good customer service.0
