One of my friends is a gym bunny. Her perpetual gripe is why men can't be quiet and still in the sauna and why they have to bomb down a swimming lane, splashing wildly.

She says her sauna experience is full of guys huffing and puffing, snorting, making big gestures in wiping off the sweat. Also asks why they need to do short stints of the front crawl or butterfly like maniacs, taking up the whole lane.

    Has she just been unlucky?

Do all men tell tall tales? You know.... been fishing and caught a whopper........ when in reality it was a teeny tiny tiddler.

We have one of hubby's mates round tonight and I've just heard hubby telling a tall tale of how he used an empty plastic bottle as funnel to put petrol into a car....... I don't believe a word of it....... this was something we both watched on Police Interceptors last night! I've given you the quick version of the story, the one he told went on and on and on lol. So tempted to say 'how strange, thats exactly the same thing we saw on tv last night' but I resisted deflating his ego :D

Thankfully I don't have to listen to this very often, just wonder why he can't just listen to his mate and not have to try to 'top trump' him at every turn?

That's a pretty normal DIY tactic.

Surely he'd come up with a better tale than '' I used a plastic bottle as a funnel''

Think you need to calm down a bit OP. Starting a thread about such a normal, boring story your husband told

There isn't anything that all men do, or all women do, except the basics like eat, sleep and excrete I suppose!

Never seen him do one of those 3 things, or have any time in a 24 hour period for them.

That's what I thought. I've used a cut down plastic bottle to help get petrol and other liquids or powders into to all sorts of things.

I'm not sure if all men do the same, but it's a pretty common practice.
  • I don't, I've got an actual funnel for transferring fluids. Must have cost me almost three pounds as well.

Old plastic bottles are free and you don't need to clean them.

I've used old plastic bottles to act as a funnel (as others have said it's a pretty standard technique if you don't have a suitable funnel to hand), but not for putting petrol into a car.

I don't tell tall tales though - don't really see the point.

isn't it just the same as women wearing a 'cup size bigger' bra?

basically advertising that they have got more than they really have, to make them appear 'better'
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Try starting a thread about that :rotfl:

Yes, all men make up lies about cars. And all women want to be Kim Kardashian and talk about the price of nail polish.
That's really all there is to it.
