Car dealer changed deal without me noticing

In december last year I financed a car.
I was accepting the offer of a new corsa excite with a £451 deposit for £179 a month

The dealer then told me not to worry about the deposit as he overheard me talking to my dad about having trouble finding it.
When I said it wouldnt be an issue he essentially ignored me and put it through with a deposit.

Being too excited about getting a new car I overlooked the extra £53 a month which was added on in my naivety.

I have contacted vauxhall regarding this and have proof of the original offer which I Was attempting to accept. It was offered to partners of the company as my grandad worked there until he retired.
The model and date of the deal match up with this

Do I have a leg to stand on here?

    No.

Because you were 'excited', you didn't bother to read the paperwork you signed, and that's someone else's fault?

No. Just no. Your fault, your problem.

That's an expensive mistake you won't make again, isn't it?

While I think that the way this was put was very 'blunt', it's impossible to disagree with what was written.

In future, don't sign anything unless you double and triple check it, even ask someone else to check if you are not sure.

And never trust someone who is trying to sell you something, they are not looking out for your best interests, only what they can get out of you.
  • How many months is the finance over? After 9 you will have repaid the deposit.

Yes, I'm afraid I'm not sorry about that. Having looked back at the poster's history, he seems to delight in attracting parking fines, then appealing them, and has asked this question about his Vauxhall deal before.

Ultimately, he seems to want everyone except himself to take responsibility for his own actions, and that I have no time for, personally.
  • He also failed to mention.
Ive had the car for a year now, the deal was done in december 2014
  • If you actually thread which you're mentioning you would have found it was part of a process to get my university to remove their PPC enforcement and was simply an idea I had that could help the process.

I hope you are not so quick to judge with your friends and family in real life

With regards to what I also left out. I said in the OP that it was last year, you'll have to forgive me and yourself for getting mixed up on my terminology and definition of last year.
  • Also at one point did you gather that I am trying to get everyone else to take the blame for my mistakes?

I didn't realise that was what asking for help and advice meant.

So what did you mean by "do i have a leg to stand on here?", if you're expecting someone else to take the blame?
  • Is there anything I can do to help myself here is what that phrase clearly means. Especially in this context.

If you're just going to judge me for a mistake I made by all means waste your time and energy with someone else.
I came here for advice not an attempt at a witch hunt.
