Awaiting decision

Hi there, I'm new to this site but really need advice. I have just applied for my first credit card, as I need a little extra cash for a trip to London, I applied to marbles only to be told they couldn't give me an instant 'yes' and need to look into it further, and they said I would either receive a letter or an email shortly, 7days have now passed and I have heard nothing as of yet, and my trip is coming up in 2weeks time, will it harm my application if I apply to another credit card, or should I just wait? Over Christmas I have taken out 2 new Catalogues but nothing I can't afford, so I didn't know whether this could effect my application? Any advice would be most appreciated

Unlikely, but possible - if they decide to do another check.

Yes, it could. Two recent credit applications, but without any history of servicing the new debt so far.

Why don't you call them and see if you were accepted/declined:

If your trip is in 2 weeks time you are cutting it very close given that card companies can take up to 7-10 days to send the card out, and then you have to wait further for the PIN to be sent.

Also marbles require signed paper agreements so this will add to your time scale, in total took my application to card around 3.5 weeks.

Easy way would be just ring.
