I have worked it out to be 1304.10.
I have posted all my wage slips etc today so I guess now I just wait for the letter to come to say how to pay it back?

She said this morning that I may get a fine for reporting it late to them. I dont know if you know anything about those? How much it would be?

Sorry I have no idea regards a possible fine, I didn't work in the Benefits section, I chased very large amounts of Child Maintenance.

All I feel I can comment on is your question regarding paying back money you owe.

Penalties normally only apply where they believe it's benefit fraud.

I would think in this case they'll just want their money back.
  • I did a google and it came up with

The £50 civil penalty applies if your benefit is overpaid because you:

negligently gave incorrect information and didn’t take reasonable steps to correct your mistake
didn’t tell Jobcentre Plus, a disability benefits centre, the Pension Service or your local council about a change or failed to give them information without a reasonable excuse

    Says civil penalty!

Why did you leave it so long before telling the DWP that you had started work?

Regardless of the mistake you made over the date, you still left it four months (five months maybe!) before telling them. That could attract a fine. No one here can tell you 100% of it will or not
