50p kilo of Mexican sandwich filling (YS at work), boiled 500g pasta added a handful of mixed peppers and some sweetcorn. Some into a dish topped with mozzarella made a smashing dinner. Two portions tomorrow for our lunches. Two BIG portions for the freezer. Very chuffed with myself :rotfl:
Mr Zaxdog now has a date for his operation so he has ANOTHER drive to Glasgow for his "pre-op" appointment :eek:0 -

50kg!!!!!!! That would have been a bit much even for me :rotfl:
Today's freebies were a wheel of very posh brie and an equally posh smoked cheddar. Cheddar in freezer and I'll use some of the brie this weekend and stick the rest in the freezer.
Oh and I won a bottle of red wine :T
Mr Z is delivering tonight so will get a free dinner. Same tomorrow and Sunday I will take out a (freebie) venison silver side from the freezer and we'll have it roasted with a tin of tatties roasted in the juices and some super six asparagus.0 -
Wow Zax that's a good haul, and your freebie Indian take away too. When DD was at school in 5th form she worked at a pizza shop Friday and Saturday night and often they'd be a wrong order just around the time she was finishing . She would bring it home when I went to collect her and it was always a meat feast our favourite lol. xWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0

Yay first shop of the month and only parted with £21.73 and got a good haul of fruit and veg and topped up the stuff I had run out of.
No more shopping for at least a week if not more for me.Just doing my menus this morning as I am away looking after my three DGS tonight overnight as DD and her OH are off up to Norwich to pick up my DGS from Uni.
I am away for the third week in April so won't have to buy as much next month at least:):) My friend and I are self-catering in Staffordshire for a week so I will take a collection of stuff with me,tes coffee etc and a few jars and tins as well.

Whilst DD was shopping in MrM's today she notice some Sharwoods Balti sauce reduced from £1.73 down to 39p YS so she grabbed all 3 jars for me. They have got April date in but that doesn't bother me I know it will be fine when I use it. The YS salad stuff has lasted from Tues and will be finished off today, my 5p daffodils have finally all out today that's from Tuesday too. So anybody who thinks YS have to be used straight away 5 days later they are still going strong and if the salad stuff had been veg they be well into next week still fine. xWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0

Leftover Mexican chicken pasta from freezer for me. Mr Z will much as he is delivering again tonight.
Tried the freebie vanilla coke today:eek: It was pretty disgusting and I have a tightly controlled weakness for real Coke and Irn Bru.
Decided to go beachcombing tomorrow so YS/freebie picnic will be assembled and dog fed early on (freebie dog food from work too lol)0
