  • Thanks everyone :)

Had a scary look at the credit card, really need to get these returns sorted and refunded so I know for sure what is coming back off the balance so that can be a job for tonight.

I was over at my friends the other day and she had a big bag of dvds/cds in her hall that she was getting rid of, I told her that you can sell online or give to charity but she said she couldn’t be bothered sorting them, soooo I have them and going to see if I can sell to one of those sites online. I have 3 old iphones in a drawer that I will never fix so going to try sell them onto a website too, another job for tonight.

Meal planned until Sunday and not a penny needed to be spent. Will do another plan at the weekend for Monday to Friday to see if I can get away with not spending anything. Fruit bowl is nearly empty, but loads and loads of veg so will make up for the fruit shortfall with lots of vegetables, which is actually healthier anyway!

I feel like I've done a full week at work this week, it has dragged in and the time off feels like it never even happened, goodness knows how I will cope next week!!

All bar one of the parcels I need to send back went back today. I just need to print a returns form as can't find it anywhere for one package but I don't have a printer at home so will do that in work on Monday and send that away then.

Didn't get round to the dvd's/phone task, will do it soon!!

Having a boring weekend, but this is needed. Last night Mr Marine came round and we started watching Luther - why am I so late to this party?! I think I am slightly in love with John Luther :heart2::smileyhea:lovethoug if you haven't watched I highly recommend. Today I spent the day cleaning my house, then my mums house and doing her shopping then had dinner with them both and not long home. Going to have a bath and a few glasses/bottle of wine. Stocked up on my favourites during Christmas in Sainsburys they had great deals on, so much so that this Christmas I think I spent more of wine and gin than I did on food! Well...tubs of heroes and celebrations are a close second!! At least I have a good stash of wine to keep me going.

Tomorrow I am meeting a friend for lunch with her 2 kids. The options are a pub lunch or a soft play!!! Hoping it's not the latter :rotfl:

Desperate to watch more Luther but said I wouldn't - this is the downside of watching something with someone!! I'll have a look and try find something worth watching or might be the crazy person that I am and have an early night with a book!

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend xxx

  • Debt as of November -

    Loan £7,000
    Virgin £2400
    Barclays £2500

    Paid off Santander of £1800

Total debt is: £11,900 so a pathetic reduction of £300 this month!

I have given myself realistic budgets so I should be able to stick to them and not go into my overdraft. The money to pay my Dad back fund is empty so anything over what I have will come off my overdraft which will charge me!!

As of today with refunds still pending my debt is as follows -

    Loan - £7000
    Virgin - £2200
    Barclays - £2400

    Total: £11,600

Have about £400 going back onto Barclays and will be able to make some extra payments once I properly do my budget for the month. I am happy my debt didn't increase, wish it came down more but by not increasing I'll take! :T xxx

p.s was paid early that's why I am updating early

I feel like I have lost my diary mojo! I don’t really have anything worth writing down it seems…

Had a busy week at work and not much money been spent apart from petrol but I will need to buy lunch today but will probably go for a healthy baked pot and beans or some soup so about £2.50 max.

I made a £200 payment to Barclaycard so balance is sitting at £1,200!!! Seems like the end is in slight! No refunds have been applied as of yet – so quick to take your money and slow to give it back.

Update on my mum is she is getting (slowly) better, but her mobility is very poor which isn’t helped by living up a top floor flat without a lift, so has basically been housebound since coming home from hospital. I am going to look into renting a flat asap, not sure if they will def be up for this, but I did mention it and it went down better than I thought, only thing is I will need to pay for the place so not sure how much I can afford/get for my money. I basically need to pay for it because a few years ago I bought their house from the council, so if I hadn’t then they would have been able to get a swap from the council. Right now they don’t pay rent like they did previously but they cover the factor fees for the building which I’m not 100% sure how much they are…hopefully this is do-able!

I was always planning on getting a second mortgage to help my sister out and get her on the property ladder as her credit file is tarnished for life!! But she is doing nothing about saving up for a deposit…so maybe I will try and see how possible it would be to get another property at some point this year………..

That’s all for now, nothing much else to update xx

Hi reality. Your sister doesn't sound like she is really onboard with buying a property so, if affordable and workable for you, buying a ground floor flat for your mum and dad seems the more sensible option and helpful for them I would think.

The Barclaycard is going down nicely though!

  • Yeah she's not, she's in the middle of booking a lavish holiday - that she probably can't afford. I can now judge as that's not me anymore lol

Flat would be good, but it's just the deposit that's the issue, and don't think could afford a loan for it and then 2 mortgage repayments so think will need to rent short term... lots to think about anyway!!

Paid an extra £100 to Barclays this morning, so now down to £1,100!! I need to stop now though as pay day is a long way and don't want to run out!!

Went a healthy food shop yesterday and spent most of the food budget but it should about last. Having a meat free week and sticking to fish, veg, fruit, brown rice etc - fish is pricey compared to mince etc but feeling slugish so going to get back to juicing and healthy eating and back to the gym!

Happy Monday everyone, even though this is more appropriate for me....
