What a fab night out - and I know we shouldn't do these things on a school night but once in a while its good to do something different. Hope the hangover subsides quickly - have to say that if I ever get one these days that it lasts for days so I do try and ensure they don't happen, but I'm officially old now.

Barry Manilow isn't really my thing either but I was a guest at one of his concerts a few years back and the show and the atmosphere were amazing, I had a great time. You know all the songs, you sing along and everyone is smiling - its cheesey but its fun.

Shame about the rich suitor - could you not grow to love him? I'm joking of course. Hope you feel better soon.

  • I am not 100% but getting there. Everyone is fed up listening to me moan in work. Some orange fizzy lucozade (spent £1.40, deemed an essential) has helped to sort me out.

Been brushing up on some Barry Manilow...I should edit my post, turns out I am a fan! Didn't know I knew as many songs!!

Joey your comment :rotfl: I did consider it for a few minutes, but I can't do it......................yet.
Plus my marine is home next week :j xx

  • Had a lovely weekend, as usual it was over too quick.

Nothing much to report...ended up spending £23.31 in Lidl - I think buying food when I have food is an addiction! Oh well, it is out the budget and when it's gone its gone and I will be forced to eat what I've got for the 2 weeks before pay day!

£45 of petrol put in from the budget.

£15 spent on beer, card and mug for fathers day.

    £21 on dog food.

Hoping to have a zero spend week until at least Thursday!

Nothing much else to report. Hope you all had a good weekend xx

Sunday was Father's Day in the US so I took my sweetie to a new Mexican food restaurant in the next town. It was in a sketchy part of town and was a metal building that looked like a very small warehouse. The inside was clean, pleasant in a basic sort of way, nice friendly staff. The food was outstanding! We were visiting with the guy at the next table while waiting for our food and he told us that when the owner started out, many years ago, she lived in a two room house. She cooked out out her kitchen. You would go in and sit at her kitchen table as she cooked the order on her stove and would then turn around and hand you the plate. She did this for years and saved her money, eventually having enough to buy the metal building and turn it into a restaurant. The interior was open concept and a counter separated the kitchen from the diners. She was still cooking for us from her stove. Staff were her family with her little granddaughter was seated at a table in front of the counter with play dough and coloring books. The entire family could see her and keep track. A hard working family. Such a lovely story.

That restaurant sounds great Mila, and what an inspirational story - wonder if we'll see it on DDD anytime. Its my guilty pleasure watching that show.

  • That restaurant sounds so lovely Mila - good find! And I bet the food was lovely all home cooked with family recipes. I love DDD too joey! I like all food programs, Masterchef is my favourite and Come Dine With Me - even though not actual cooking half the time! I would love to go on.

Had a call from Amazon "Hi Mrs XXXXX I am calling to process your refund....." Could not believe it, I am due about £300 back, he told me all he had was for £85....I questioned this was then transferred to another department to do the full amount and she said all she had in front of her was £35?!?! and then couldn't put me back to the first person...arranged a call back who then said he will need to look into in further...............basically no further forward!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Had a NSD yesterday and will be the same today, nothing much else to report, and nothing been found to sell yet, but I haven't actually bothered to look to be fair!

DS has basically moved back in, him and my DD are driving me insane with me working all day and coming home to them either not having walked the dog, left everything behind them and the kitchen a mess from whatever delights they have cooked when they have managed to get out their bed around midday!!

Not had a chance to speak to them really, but I will be tonight!!

Anyway, enough moaning from me i'll be back next time with a more positive happy post, I hope!! xxx

  • I've also just clicked onto this DS and DD abbreviations...much quicker, however right now they are both far from being little darlings! I might just use another word in my head that stands for D.............
