DIY Sweet Table.

DP told me to hire people to do it for us but I can't find it cheaper that £300/£350 which is money I just don't want to spend on sweets!

Has anyone done their own? I've seen some nice vases when out and about. Thinking about buying 10 or so and filling them with sweets.

Where do I get the sweets from?

I did mine myself. Brought jars from the pound store and little bowls and things from charity shops spent about £20 then got all my sweets from the pound stores, Tescos and Wilkos basically any cheap shops (check out B&M if you have one nearby) spent about £60 ish (it was HUGE!)

At the moment retro sweets are really in and most pound stores are doing a bag of lollies containing drumsticks ect with about 10+ in the bag

Got little personalised bags to fit my theme (purple and silver with butterflies) from amazon about £5 and scoops and tongs from amazon about £5 too

Mine went down a treat and we had hardly anything left everyone really seemed to enjoy it

Whaaat? That's crazy. Our decorating lady offers it for £40! Easy enough to do a DIY version - I'd follow the suggestions given by people above. Also, if you have any little local sweetshops, they can be quite a cheap way of buying sweets in bulk...

Also google sweet trees - we're making a Ferrero Rocher one It's basically a football sized polystyrene ball (hobbycraft) with sweets on cocktail sticks jammed onto it. You put it on some dowling (eBay) and into a plant pot which you fill with concrete to keep it weighted down.

My friend bought some big vases and bought sweets online. She still has millions of sweets left, though!
