However I sometimes wonder if these magazines override their own rules to favour people who are likely to have actually bought their magazines and solved the puzzles for themselves.
I buy the mags, do the puzzles myself and enter online and I've never won lol. Don't read too much into it and just enjoy entering and the chance of winningYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

That could explain why despite entries running into tens of thousands some names seem to appear repeatedly in the winners lists.( I know I've made that point before. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=69991707&postcount=6 )
I've bought these mags for years & do all the
puzzles in them & yes,
i have had lots of wins from them from online entries & EF entries,
i also fill in a few EF's from mags with family
member/s n/a & they have won on occasions & also know
of people that have won through text entries,
so i believe all entries have the same chance,
it's just the luck of the drawplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
OK - They will obviously need to know how many of each type entry are received to give everyone an "equal" chance.
With texted and emailed entries that is easy. They'll know the total by electronic means.
What about postal entries though? Do they just count the unopened envelopes? Or do they open every single one of them and count each individual competition that the sender has completed on the entry form?
Remember that there will be many people such as myself who don't enter all the competitions on the entry form. ( Some of the prizes won't appeal to everyone )0 -

A company like this will deal with it (this one covers Hearst Magazines), the info will be computerised and a random selection made from all entries.

In the same way dealing with postal entries for tv competitons are outsourced to another companyWe have the capability to process data via the traditional method of keyboard input; by scanning; through the use of automated data capture and data recognition systems e.g. OCR / OMR; and also by the process of transcribing audio files.
Under particular circumstances, or in response to specific customer requirements, it may be appropriate to capture particular jobs off-shore to maximize client value0
