  • These are becoming more common in the park we have our caravan at. All the newly available plots are being used for this type of thing. But, ultimately they are still basically static caravans underneath, the chassis is still attached to a tow hitch, for example. They have to be, to qualify for their status pertaining to council tax and VAT.

    I'm pretty certain that as the 12 wide replaced the 10 wide which in turn replaced the 8 wide, the lodge type will replace the aluminium panelled van.
