Talk Talk and change of telephone number

I switched from BT to TT for phone and broadband. Because of contract obligations to BT I wanted it done Jan instead of Dec and TT said that because of delay I would get a new number which actually did not bother me that much, so happy to go along with that.
However it would seem that TT did not inform BT that I was switching and therefore BT have charged as per normal.
So rang BT and cancelled. 1 month's notice. Fair enough. Told TT had not followed procedure and take up with TT.
Phoned TT. Really helpful. Spoke to Customer Services Manager who agreed to reimburse BT charges - have to send final BT bill.
So happy and excellent service from TT.
BUT - if you are switching and not porting be aware!!!!!!

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like your order was put through as a new line order rather than a working line transfer. This would mean that your old provider wasn't informed. Does your order confirmation indicate it was a new line rather than a migration?
Thanks

Hang on a minute. TT have 'Told' you they will refund the charges. Thats a very, very, very big difference from TT 'Actually' doing it. Dont hold your breath.0
