I did this with my cc and although it looked as if they had gone through at the time but on checking with the CC in the next few days, neither ended up going though and things were just fine. Sp I only paid once on the Debit card.

Ring your CC and see what they say.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I very much doubt the credit card transactions had "gone through", it does not happen that quickly and the bank CS would not be able to say that - all they would see is a reservation for the funds. The funds are probably just reserved and will fall off in around 3 - 10 days. If the funds are not actually debited in the next couple of days then they probably won't be. Just keep an eye on your on line statement. Which card do you have - Santander and Cap1 show the individual transactions immediately.

I process refunds, and trust me its not instant
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I don't think there's any refund to be made that impacts any aspect of the OP's finances other than perhaps available balance on the credit card. The debit card payment is the one that was made in exchange for the trainers so no problem there. The two credit card transactions if they have worked will be reversed, and any money that might have been taken already (unlikely to be any at all) will simply go back to the card issuer. Nothing has been taken from any account operated by the OP that shouldn't have been taken. Mountain out of a non-existent molehill I'm afraid.

It's entirely possible to "refund" a transaction immediately (or at least the same day) you just need to cancel it.

The problem is that very few people have the authority to do it.

It's far easier for a retailers employees to go through the refund process than bump it up the chain for cancellation.
