Just been through all the comparison sites and decided on Green Flag for us. Did look at AutoAid, but for cover for 2 people it was nearly the same price after taking GF's Quidco cashbook into consideration.

Interesting as when I got my renewal a live in partner/spouse got cover for free.
Maybe that's just for existing customers?

Their policy states cover is only for the policyholder and spouse or civil partner.

I doubt the attending recovery service will demand any proof that your nominated other half is actually your spouse or civil partner!!

I did consider going down on one knee to him indoors, but it seemed a bit drastic to save 50 quid!

You won't find any official link, but there have been a number of anecdotal posts on mse about this.

In any case if you do need help and have to pay and claim if you claim straightaway and pay with a credit card the money is refunded before the cc bill has to be paid

Nationwide do cover with bank account at £10 per month. Uk and European cover as well as travel insurance. If joint account then you're both covered
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

To join online, yes. Phone them, and it's no problem.

Only German residents can join on-line as the on-line application form doesn't recognize non-German post-codes.

    Just phone them.
