Didn't see it previously so was unaware.

However it may be worth saving the end of the piece as VCS /JLA told the BBC on film that in certain circumstances such as breakdown, they will cancel the tickets and in fact did so for 2 of the subjects - not the main guy.

At least one of those cancellations was ordered by a Judge!

    More smoke and mirrors.

That may be so, but it can do no harm to quote their reported comments should anyone be defending a non pickup stop in the future.

Very interesting. I got up a copy of the sign and started reading it while the driver approached. I started reading as soon as the sign was visible, although in practice the font size is too small.

    I got as far as
RESTRICTED ZONE. NO STOPPING AT ANY TIME. Mobile CCTV and Number plate

and then the sign was gone. So there is no hope of reading the entire sign, and therefore no hope of forming a contract.

There is a lot to be said for having a dash cam (if you can afford it of course although not that expensive)

Many good purposes in case of an accident etc and great when driving into a scammers airport or indeed entry to supermarket etc. They automatically print time, date and some show speed which unlike scammers like UKPC cannot be tampered with. Perfect proof in court from your laptop

yup , dashcams are handy , just pull into one of those nice laybys with nice red lines , rewind and watch the footage , pause on the signage and read it

Following that line of thought, could that section not be used as part of a motorist's case in court? Visual evidence of how the signs can not be read, particularly the penalty cost not being evident, must be of help and persuasive.

Maybe someone with editing capabilities could snip that section out and if the regulars had access to that on dropbox or similar, make it available to JLA victims.

Yes, that's easy. most dash cams run for about an hour, then saves the video automatically and re starts afresh

From the dash cam, the video can be downloaded to a PC and in windows machines, there is Movie Maker which you can edit the part you want to show, save it and upload to You Tube so anyone can have access to it

Yes, the courts now allow videos as evidence

I agree GD. The point I was making was that VCS's own version seems to suggest they were some perfectly reasonable outfit who understood such misfortunes were beyond the driver's control and of course they would issue a cancellation notice. Who could doubt their sincerity!

I meant preserving the Rip Off Britain chunk referred to by hoohoo that is already on video.
